Donna McKechnie (Amanda Harris) will be appearing in a new off Broadway musical entitled Rockwell. As the title suggests, the musical is based on the life of Norman Rockwell (not the 80's one-hit-wonder Rockwell  ;D).

The show will run May 17 through June 2 at the Blue Heron Arts Center. Tickets are $19.

For more detailed information, consult Playbill Online, which was my source for this information:

Mscriseyde has updated my page to include this event and will be adding more photos later today or tomorrow :)
Unfortunately, it took MsCriseyde a bit longer to do this because she is engaged in trench warfare over a plagiarism case. A student is too lazy to write his/her own !@#$% paper, and I get tied up in months of meetings and paperwork because I had the unmitigated gall to report him/her to the dean by submitting printouts of the web sites s/he copied and to assign a zero on the paper. Somebody please remind me again what the hell honesty and ethics are good for?

Ok. End of rant.  :-X

Bob's photos have been added to his site:

http://bobubas.topcities.com/index.htm

And, in case anyone was wondering why the Selby site hasn't been updated despite mountains of stuff sitting here waiting to be added, that would be because the university where I teach doesn't require students to take astronomy during the first semester so that they can be divested of the notion that the world revolves around them.

Bitter? Yes. I am.  >:(

PS -- it's REEEEEALLY kewl!!!!! Must have taken a LOOOOOT of work!!! okay.....cya

No. The link to the site should be exactly the way I have it:

http://members.aol.com/davidselbysite

I'm not fond of all that AOL banner stuff that you get with the Hometown AOL url, so I never use it. The URL that I use eliminates that.

Seems silly to me to modify the URL in order to get advertising. I'd rather modify it to avoid it, but, hey, if you like it better with the advertising, don't let me spoil your fun.  ;D

I've posted some photos from David Selby's recent appearance in Charleston to promote The Griffin & The Minor Canon. The photos feature David speaking to the Girl Scouts prior to the event. These photos were provided by Janet from the SoapNet Falcon Crest message board.

I've also added a link to additional photos on the West Virginia Public Broadcasting site from this premiere and an earlier premiere at Fairmont State College .

You can find all of this by checking out the What's New section of my main page:

Enjoy!

I've updated my site to include links to a photo of David from last night's premiere and an AP News Wire piece about a prior event:

http://members.aol.com/davidselbysite

Here's a humorous side note.  :D The AP piece appeared today in the Entertainment section of Yahoo! News. Yahoo hyperlinks celebrity names to a Yahoo search of their name, so folks who read this article and clicked on David's name got a list of the 3 sites listed on Yahoo for David. One of them is mine. As a result, the hit count for today was 2.5 times higher than it usually is on days when I upload new content. Today set a record for number of visits in a single day.  :o

The Griffin and the Minor Canon, the half-hour animated special for which David Selby provided the voice of the Griffin, premeired this evening on West Virginia Public Television. David attended two events to mark the premiere. We've already heard on this board from someone who attended the premiere at Fairmont State College. An account of the premiere this evening in Charleston has been posted on the SoapNet Falcon Crest message board by janetmorris50. Janet is involved with the Girl Scouts, and David spent a little time talking to her scouts. You can access her report via the link below:

http://boards.go.com/cgi/soapnet/Request.dll?LIST&room=falconcrest

Currently, the program will only air on West Virginia Public Television stations. However, a videotape can be purchased from West Virgina Public Broadcasting. I've added information about this to my David Selby site. Just follow the link under the What's New section of the main page:

West Virginia Public Television's web site for The Griffin and the Minor Canon is now active:

http://www.griffin-minorcanon.org

This is a half-hour animated program based on the short story by Frank Stockton. David Selby provides the voice of The Griffin, and he will be attending a couple of premiere events for the program this month in West Virginia.

The web site is designed for educators interested in incorporating the program in the classroom. They have all sorts of stuff online about the making of the program. I've not had time to get through it myself, but it looks quite interesting.

If you've not had all the Selby you can stand, you can also check out my David Selby web site:

On March 7, she will record Inside the Music in front of an invited audience at Clinton Studios in New York. This performance will be released on the Fynsworth Alley label. Their site lists a March release date, though that does seem a bit soon.

Scott,

Since the cable now goes directly to the vcr without any box, all you need to do is change the vcr timer to tape from whatever channel Sci-Fi is on your cable system instead of channel 3.

It doesn't matter what channel your television is set to. You can even watch something different while you tape.

In addition to information about the upcoming West Virginia PBS animated program featuring David's voice, I've updated my David Selby site this weekend to include:

-- two additional video clips of David reading some of his poetry. These appear with the author's and the videographer's cooperation.

-- images of David from the film White Squall

In the near future, I will be adding images from David's appearance in the 1970's series Police Woman with Angie Dickinson.

You can find all the new stuff by following the link from the What's New section of the main page. A link to the site appears below this message.

Enjoy,

In 1999, David Selby recorded a voice track for an animated version of Frank Stockton's short story, "The Griffin and the Minor Canon." David played the part of the Griffin. Other prominent West Virginians such as Soupy Sales, Chris Sarandon, and Kathy Mattea also lent their voices to the project. Though it was beset with various production delays, the program will finally premiere on West Virginia Public Television in March.

To mark the event, David is scheduled to make two public appearances in the Charleston area. He also gave a brief telephone interview for an article about the production that appeared this week in the Charleston Gazette. This article also appeared online. West Virginia Public Television will also create a resource site with materials related to the show for students and educators.

The links to the Gazette article and the West Virginia Public Television site along with more specific information about the appearances can be found by following the link from the What's New section of my David Selby site. The link to the site appears below this message.
