Calendar Events / Announcements '02 II / Re: Jamison Selby Film

I have always wondered if Selby named his son 'Jamison' after David Henesy's 1897 TV character?

Yes, he was named after the character, and David has said so on several occasions including during the 1999 Festival.

Professionally, his son uses the name Jamison Selby now.

During an early acting gig in the Dudley Moore/Kirk Cameron flic, Like Father, Like Son, he was credited as Todd Selby (his middle name). He was also credited this way for a bit part he did with his father in King of the Olympics.

« on: December 29, 2002, 11:58:56 PM »
David Selby's son, Jamison Selby, starred as the male lead in an independent film entitled One Take, which was filmed in 1997. One Take made the rounds of the various indie film festivals in 1998.

In November of this year, the film finally made it to DVD and VHS, with a ringing endorsement from Billy Bob Thornton on the cover. If you're interested in learning more about the film, you can visit the official site.

The films is available from Amazon on either DVD or VHS. If you use the links here, a certain shameless webmaster will get a 5% commission. [lghy]

David has filmed a small role in a film titled Topanga Canyon. No release date is currently available. In fact, very little information is available other than that he's in the film and the film is in post-production, but there you have it. You heard it here first. :D

Actually, I think there are probably only about eight or nine of us and we just keep clicking on the link.

A similar statement was made when the URL was first published, except Bob accused Sheenasma and me of running up the hit counter with hourly checks.

All I can tell you is the whole blame thing, all 156 pages of cyber sprawl, is on my hard drive, so I don't have to run up the hit counter to look at it every half hour. [lghy]

For those who are easily amused, Criseyde's David Selby Site welcomed its 50,000th guest this past week. To celebrate, a little bit of nonsense has been added to the main page. If you're familiar with where the subject line of this message was ripped off from, then you probably have a good idea what you're going to see on the site. Click the link banner below to visit the site.

Oh no, my Psychos for Selby membership hasn't been revoked, has it? [woryy]

I'm not authorized to revoke memberships; however, I may have to ban your IP address from visiting the site. I hope there's a library nearby. :o

Everyone else is bored because DS isn't airing now. I don't have that excuse because I don't get Sci-Fi.

My excuse is that I am sick of grading all these student papers, so I have been goofing around with Bob's Seaview photo. If your web browser is capable of handling java applets, you'll be able to see this. If not, tough stuff.

This may take a minute or two to load depending on your connection. Rest assured that it is far more exciting than comma splices, run-on sentences, and passive voice.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: Looking for DS jewerly

The person you're looking for is CynD from the Central Dark Shadows Fan Club. She usually has a table in the dealers' room of her DS-related jewelry creations.

She has a new web site at:

http://www.cyndesignd.com

Click on Jewelry Design and then CynD's Shadow Jewelry to see some of her creations.

Enjoy! :-)

The Fall 2002 issue of the West Virginia University Alumni Magazine includes a feature article on The Griffin and the Minor Canon, the animated feature David presented at this year's Dark Shadows Festival. David provided the voice of the Griffin.

You'll find a link to the article on my David Selby site.

There's an article about the upcoming LATW production of On the Waterfront from Playbill Online. I've added a link to my Selby site.

The article doesn't mention David by name. (What the hell were they thinking? [lghy])

I will have to check with my source and get back to you about the role.

The answer to the burning question is that he will be playing Father Vincent, a character that did not appear in the original film but is included in this adaptation.

I should add that the adaptation was done by the original writer of the screenplay, and he'll be doing a Q&A after one of the shows.
