Looking forward to your report, quentin-channing. In the meantime, here's a photo from the event that was posted on Twitter by an attendee:

It appears they have two Quentins in the house tonight. Quentin Tarantino was a surprise guest for the Dirty Harry screening that precedes The Super Cops.

153
The New Beverly posted a blurb on Facebook and Twitter within the past couple of hours. Tonight's screening is sold out. Any tickets that become available will be sold via the standby line.

Plenty of tickets are still available for tomorrow night's screening, which is minus the guests. The print of The Super Cops was flown over from England. The film is not available on DVD. It aired somewhat regularly a few years ago on the now defunct Turner South cable network, but their version was heavily edited, for drug references just as much as if not more than profanity. It's not been on television in quite some time. (The DVD version that circulated a few years ago was unauthorized.)

As though David Selby isn't enough . . .

In the wake of last night's Golden Globe win by The Social Network for Best Motion Picture Drama (did you honestly think I'd let it pass without comment?  [snow_wink]), the Friends of Greystone (1991 DS Collinwood) called attention today on their Facebook page to the fact that portions of the film were shot on location there.

I have just been advised that David Selby will not attend The Hollywood Show at the Burbank Airport Marriott in February. Apologies for the confusion.

Confirmation now posted on David Selby's official site that he plans to attend The Hollywood Show at the Burbank Airport Marriott on February 12-13.

Organizers are advertising a Dark Shadows "reunion" to feature Jerry Lacy, Lara Parker, Christopher Pennock, Kathryn Leigh Scott, and David Selby.

David Selby will be at the New Beverly Cinema in LA on Tuesday, January 18, for a screening of The Super Cops. He will be discussing the film with co-writer Lorenzo Semple Jr. (also a script/story consultant for the 1960s Batman series) and Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead, as part of The Wright Stuff II film series. Details on David's site soon.

In the meantime, check out the New Beverly Cinema's web site for ticket information:

I am not going to turn this into and educational debate. I will read and consider any replies but will not answer them. I will agree to disagree.  I do not mean to detract from Mr. Selby's message, with which I am in near total agreement.
I find this fascinating, and I suspect Selby would too. Since he has actually encouraged feedback to what he has posted, perhaps you should consider passing this along via his web site where he is more likely to read it, consider it, and perhaps even respond to it in some way, since he does not visit this forum.

i loved the last tv show he did with "Matthew Perry" a couple years back. it really pissed me off that it got cancelled when it did. but i was happy that it at least got a send off episode.
Not sure what series you're thinking of because Selby never did a show with Matthew Perry.

The DVD release date for The Social Network was announced today. It will be out on January 11. The film has been getting a lot of awards-related attention in recent days, and, rightly or wrongly, it's being cited as part of the reason why Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg was named Time's Person of the Year. (At this point, I could get really off topic and comment on the pick, but I won't.  [santa_angry])

Inhale should be out on DVD in late January. A formal announcement on the DVD release for The Social Network is expected by the middle of this month. (The announcement of the release date is expected; the release will be later.)

David Selby was one of the "Celebrity Champions" who attended the 18th Annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk this past weekend. He can be seen in photos accompanying an article about the event in the Los Angeles Independent:
