She also appeared on Falcon Crest for a while as Jordan Roberts, an attorney who worked closely with David Selby's character, Richard Channing.

And, like everyone else we tend to think has dropped off the face of the planet because they aren't doing tv and movies, she's also done some stage work. About a year ago, she appeared in Singin' in the Rain in Pittsburgh. She was the movie star with the horrid voice, Lina Lamont.

Ok. Here's my feeble attempt at penance for screwing up the whole TNN/TNT thing so that we missed Adam Karlen and got to see an infomercial.

Click here for screen grabs from John Karlen's 1977 appearance on All in the Family.

He's only on for the first couple of minutes of the episode.

My web server is crapping out tonight (which is actually pretty rare), so, if the page doesn't load for you, please try again later. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's shocking! I think the kitten gives a beautiful and multi-layered performance. One can certainly tell he/she was a pro, and to be overlooked like that - shameful!

I agree. I think someone needs to ask LP what it was like to work with the cat at the upcoming Festival.  [nut]

The DVD of the pilot episode includes director's commentary from Kenneth Johnson. He doesn't say a whole lot about Lara Parker other than that her scenes were difficult because they required her to work herself into a specific emotion without any real plotline to get herself there.

Most of her stuff was filmed on the Universal lot, except for the car wreck sequence, which was filmed in Valencia.

He has absolutely nothing to say about the kitten.  >:(

That one sort of begs the question: Are Gere and Selby Method actors? [heh]

[lghy] Very funny!

BeYOOtiful captures!

You're only saying that because I left this one off the site.  ;D

(psst...are they in the bathroom?)

Umm . . . yes.  :-[ He's having a conversation with Richard Gere in the men's room.
[toilet]
And whoever did the sound editing to make it echo like a bathroom wound up making David's voice sound really deep.  ;D

Hi everybody,

I've updated my David Selby site to include screen grabs from his appearance in the 1994 film Intersection with Richard Gere and Sharon Stone. Both appear with David in the screen grabs.

You can access the new material by checking out the "What's New" section of the main page:

Sorry to say that I botched the schedule information and wound up with an infomercial.  >:(

The show airs on TNT, not TNN.

Now if Spike Lee would just drop his silly lawsuit so TNN can move forward with their plans to rename their network SPIKE, I won't ever make this mistake again.  ::)

The Karlen fans can probably fill in a lot more detail, but, apparently, John Karlen's son Adam also does some acting.

Wednesday morning at 6:00am ET, he'll be on an episode of Pensacola: Wings of Gold on TNN. The ep originally aired in February 1998.

I'll see if I can get hold of a grab or two to post.

Oh, cool. I got the "voice of God" font on my earlier post in this thread.  ;D

In the chat, someone asked Lara what it was like working with Bill Bixby in the pilot for The Incredible Hulk. Thought some folks might be interested in seeing a few screen grabs of Lara Parker as Laura Banner.

Was she in "Silent Night, Bloody Night"?
That was a cool/sick flick....

Patti

tsk tsk...IMDB lists her credits as Dark Shadows, 1966....tsk tsk... :-X

I don't know much about her movie credits, Patti. I'd consult the IMDb for that. And, on the 1966 for Dark Shadows, I think the IMDb pretty consistently lists the beginning year for a series next to it, even if the actor appeared in the 5th season or whatever, but I may be wrong.

On Lisa Richards and the Fests, there were photos of her on the web for some West Coast DS event at some point, but I can't remember now what it was.

She is listed on the DS Fest web site for this year's event, but, as you can tell, she stays busy with theatre stuff, so a professional commitment could very well change that.  :-

Calendar Events / Announcements '03 I / David Selby on Ally McBeal
« on: June 23, 2003, 07:34:24 PM »
David Selby's episode of Ally McBeal, entitled "I Want Love," will air on the FX cable network on Tuesday, June 24, at 2:00pm ET. The episode also features Elton John and Jacqueline Bisset.

Selby plays Bisset's boss, whom she is suing for firing her over her engagement to a much younger man.

He's in the background for a lot of the episode, but he does have a rather funny moment with Calista Flockhart when his character takes the stand.
