Calendar Events / Announcements '03 II / Scary Stories Selby Style
« on: October 12, 2003, 07:50:56 AM »
DIY (Do It Yourself Network) is rebroadcasting an episode of DIY Halloween that originally aired last year featuring a segment on how to tell scary stories with David Selby.

More information is on my site:

http://www.ldrservicesonline.com/davidselbysite

Contrary to what Bobubas may say about David's storytelling tips, he doesn't begin every scary story with "Once I met this girl named Criseyde . . ."
::)

. . . only the more frightening ones.

Joe,

I noticed this a few weeks ago, but didn't think much of it at the time. For a while, Amazon had the Dark Shadows Reunion DVD listed twice, using two different stock numbers.

Apparently, they deleted the duplicate entry, so that anyone who placed an order from that page got the notice you received about the item not being available. Anyone who ordered from the page they left up received the DVD.

This is not the first time they've done this either.  >:(

Brilliant, huh?

Not sure if this has been mentioned here or elsewhere, but this might be of interest.

Comics journalist Peter Sanderson wrote a two-piece feature on the 2003 Dark Shadows Festival for the FilmForce web site. Sanderson has been a regular Fest attendee for some time.

You'll have to click past some ads to access the full text of each piece.

Regarding the In Memoriam, Dennis Patrick deserved a mention.  JMHO.

Well, considering they managed to fit in the cinematographer from Little House on the Prairie, I have to agree with you there.

And I'll be the first to admit to being a die-hard Johnny Cash fan, and I realize his television show was groundbreaking in some respects, particularly his refusal to edit or cut Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," but, in the scheme of things, considering the consistent tributes he's received from the music industry, including this past weekend's Grand Ole Opry performances, I would've preferred to see them devote that time to those whose main claim to fame was work in television -- which also means I think they could've left out Hepburn and Cronyn.

David Selby will appear in Martinsburg, WV next month in a production of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters with his former Falcon Crest co-star Susan Sullivan. This event is a fundraiser for Main Street Martinsburg. A reception with an opportunity to meet the actors will be held prior to the performance.

CynD's photos of David Selby from "Return to Collinwood" on Sunday are now on the site and are accessible via a link from the main page:

Her non-Selby photos will eventually make their way to Bob's DS Event Photos site.

As far as where most of the living DS actors live.

Where do the ones who are not living live?  ;D

Wait till you see the batch CynD sent this morning. I envy her zoom lens.  ;)

Hopefully, I'll be able to post them before the weekend's out.

What a great cast photo.  And with Roger Davis hidden, heh.

I was trying to be good and not say anything about that.  ;)

I mean, look at the pic from the performance with him practically on top of Nancy Barrett.  It was a radio play, dude! ::)

He was just trying to get a feel for his character (and apparently some of the others as well).

There . . . you made me say it.  >:D

Just wanted to note for those who haven't seen them that there are photos from the Return to Collinwood rehearsal, performance, and recording session on Craig Hamrick's Dark Shadows Online site:

Also, Ed's event will be in Tarrytown in October 2004.  Will this also turn out to be the Fest?  Or will there be two separate events in Tarrytown?

I'd say the chances of the C.O.L.L.I.N.S. Association and the Festival events combining are slim to none. Both events do well enough to hold their own, so there would be little point in combining them.
