During a recent panel session at an industry event to plug the WB, Buffy creator Joss Whedon was asked about the proposed DS pilot. His comments are in an article from the Alameda Times-Star.

Sorry for the confusion. It was on the Festival site when I posted the link, and Stuart indicates the Festival has his source for this news item on the DS Journal site. The Fest site has been changed overnight. :)

At any rate, if you're wanting to see it from an official source (though I've yet to see the DS Journal post anything that wasn't accurate), it appears in the SG e-mail update that was sent out overnight, which I'm sure will make its way to the forum today. :)

Can anyone here actually CONFIRM that SoapNet and DC Productions are ACTUALLY in negotiations for this, or have we all taken a frequently quoted rumor and run like hell with it?

This is on the Festival's web site, though not under the current news where one might expect to find it.

If you click on the link for Today's Trivia, you'll find it mentioned there.

Just a quick update. David's performance of Love Letters with Susan Sullivan this past October at the Apollo Civic Theatre in Martinsburg, WV was a fundraiser arranged by Main Street Martinsburg, an organization devoted to revitalizing the city's downtown area.

Earlier this month, as a result of this event, Main Street Martinsburg was able to present the theatre with a $3,500 check.

The site has been updated to include:

  • Information about the cancellation of Dark Shadows on Sci-Fi (which really doesn't come as news to anyone here).
  • Information about the upcoming release of Dark Shadows DVD Collection 11, featuring David's first appearances as the ghost of Quentin Collins.
As always, new material is accessible from the What's New section of the main page:

I checked IMBDs site, I hope no news is good news (meaning, it's still due out next month/Jan 04).

At the time we were first going around about this, I mentioned that the movie was due out in Christmas 2004. That still hasn't changed, so you won't see it in theaters until some time around next November or December.

As I mentioned before, the delay in release has to do with staggering the release of Ben Affleck's various films through various studios so that they are not in competition with one another. This Christmas, Paycheck was released. Next Christmas, Surviving Christmas will be released.

In the meantime, some of David's other projects should be released in 2004.
  • Larva with Rachel Hunter will air on Sci-Fi Channel. I've heard a July airdate for that, but nothing firm yet.
  • Main Line with Peter Coyote and James Spader should be hitting theatres in 2004.

Current Talk '03 II / WB DS Cast Wish List
« on: December 14, 2003, 06:45:39 PM »
On December 4, the Knoxville News Sentinel in Knoxville, Tennessee featured a column with a cast wish list for the possible new Warner Bros. Dark Shadows series.

The article is no longer available on the KnoxNews web site, but you can access Google's cached version of the page.

There is an additional change to report regarding this event. It is being moved to the other location of Heritage Bookstore in the Park Crest Shopping Center; however, those wishing to pre-order books should still contact the originally published number for the Glenstone Ave. location because they are still handling the event.

A word of explanation about the changes . . . The time was changed to accommodate fans who indicated to the bookstore that the start time was too early for them to be there following work. The venue was changed because they have had so many calls for pre-orders that a larger venue is needed.

Complete, updated details appear on The Official David Selby Web Site.

Even at the DSWE rate, it's still a far better price than last year's in the city.

Yes, but does it include a rat show on the sidewalk outside the hotel? In the evenings, the Brooklyn Marriott boasted a live rat appearance at least every 5 minutes. They even provided benches so that you could sit and watch.  :o

So, just because his name isn't listed right now, we're not completely safe that he won't be there...

Are you suggesting that we raise the Roger Davis Fest Appearance Threat Level (RDFATL) from yellow to orange?  ;D
