David Selby was interviewed last week for That Sci-Fi Show. The interview was to be featured on the Halloween show alongside earlier interviews with Kathryn Leigh Scott and Marie Wallace. It was originally slated to air this weekend on WWNN 1470 AM in Boca Raton, FL, but it was bumped. Instead, it will be airing this evening at 10 PM ET. If you live outside the WWNN listening area, you can listen live online here:

In addition to The Social Network, David Selby can be seen this month in the independent film Inhale, which was originally titled Run for Her Life. The film deals with illegal organ trafficking. It's already available through IFC Films On Demand, if your cable or satellite provider happens to offer that service. If not, the film will have a very limited theatrical release beginning Friday. As for how limited and where, I don't have specifics, but the IFC site will help you to find out if IFC Films On Demand is available in your area:

There's an interesting article on the Huffington Post by a professor in medical anthropology at Berkeley that discusses the film and its subject:

"Twilight at the White House," David Selby's analysis of Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, appears in the November 2010 issue of America's Civil War.

Not sure if the issue is actually on newsstands, but it's already available in online library databases that carry the magazine.

In case you live under a rock, Grahame-Smith is supposed to be writing the script for the upcoming Depp/Burton Dark Shadows film. Selby was tapped to write this piece before Grahame-Smith's DS connection was announced.

The LA Theatre Works 2010-2011 season has just been announced. David Selby is slated to appear in a production of Bram Stoker's Dracula with performances to be held May 18-22. Tickets are on sale now. As with all LATW shows, the cast is subject to change without notice due to professional commitments. LA Theatre Works produces live radio theater style performances for eventual broadcast on public radio and/or sale on compact disc, digital download, etc., so please note that this is not a production with sets, costumes, etc.

The promo blurb: "Before Twilight and True Blood, only one vampire commanded 'the children of the night.' In this blood-thirsty tale of unholy terror, Count Dracula slips into Victorian London with a cargo of his native Transylvanian soil - so he can rest between victims. The city seems helpless against his frightful power, and only one man, Dr. Van Helsing, can stop the carnage. But to do this, he must uncover the vampire’s lair and pierce his heart with a wooden stake."

The LA Theatre Works box office link appears below:

Just a quick note that David Selby will have two new books at the Festival this weekend. One is a novel. The other is about Dark Shadows. He discusses both of them in the note on the Welcome page of his web site, and there's also a blurb on the News page. If you can't make it to the Fest, both books will be offered through his web site in the near future.
