David Selby has a role in the TNT Mystery Movie Deck the Halls, based on the novel by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark, which reunites him with Jane Alexander with whom he has worked on stage and more recently on television in HBO's Tell Me You Love Me. Selby portrays the father of Detective Regan Reilly. His character is kidnapped just before the holidays.

Deck the Halls will premiere on Tuesday, December 20, at 9 PM ET on TNT. It will be rebroadcast at midnight that same night. Additional airings on Friday, December 23, at 1 AM ET and Saturday, December 24, at 12 noon ET.

There's more information about the movie, including photos, on the TNT Mystery Movie Night page:

The sections are being expanded as the premiere dates approach. At the moment, the video is the generic trailer for TNT Mystery Movie Night, but look for that to change. The photo section for the movie includes some shots with David.

David Selby joins the cast of Deck the Halls, based on the book by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark. The movie is part of TNT's new Tuesday Night Mystery lineup of original films and should air in late fall (in case the title didn't make that apparent  [ghost_wink]). Jane Alexander will play his wife (again). Details on the official Selby site:

Additional casting information appears on the authors' Facebook pages.

It isn't mentioned here, but there's also a White House reception for the participants.  [ghost_cool]

In response to the many inquiries he's received from fans via his web site, Facebook, etc., David Selby has some comments about the upcoming Depp/Burton DS film on his blog:

David Selby is scheduled to attend the West Virginia Book Faire in Martinsburg on Saturday, April 16, 2011. During the event, he will take part in a discussion of coal mining with Davitt McAteer. Events are held at the Martinsburg Mall at 800 Foxcroft Avenue. For additional information about the West Virginia Book Faire, including a complete schedule of activities, please visit their site:

Unfortunately, I just found out about this event, so I doubt any of our cousins will make it, but I thought it would still be of interest to those who cannot attend. As part of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, David Selby will be introducing Man Hunt, a 1941 film noir piece directed by Fritz Lang and starring Walter Pidgeon and Joan Bennett. He'll be introducing the film because of his Dark Shadows connection with Joan Bennett. The screening takes place this evening at the Galaxy Theatres in Atascadero, CA.

As part of the pre-Oscar publicity push for The Social Network, a making-of featurette that's included on the DVD release is available for viewing on the IMDb web site. It's called How Did They Ever Make a Facebook Movie? Here's the link:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1285016/videogallery/content_type-Featurette?sort=6

I've not watched all of it, so I can't comment on whether he appears in any of the other portions, but he is definitely in the segment labeled "Part Four--The Lot," which shows the filming of the deposition scenes and discusses how Fincher shot hundreds of takes.

Spoiler alert: The shooting of the final scene is included in this segment. The portion with Selby begins around 16:07 and ends around 20:00.

As though David Selby isn't enough . . .

In the wake of last night's Golden Globe win by The Social Network for Best Motion Picture Drama (did you honestly think I'd let it pass without comment?  [snow_wink]), the Friends of Greystone (1991 DS Collinwood) called attention today on their Facebook page to the fact that portions of the film were shot on location there.
