CNN.com has posted a "People You Should Know" profile piece from the Reuters news service on actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who portrayed David Collins in the 1991 DS. The article doesn't mention DS, but the whole point is to focus on some of his recent interesting projects.

Calendar Events / Announcements '07 I / Joanna Going on Criminal Minds
« on: March 09, 2007, 03:16:27 AM »
Sorry this is after the fact, but they will probably rebroadcast the episode at some point. I'm a little behind on my television watching these days.  ;)

Joanna Going (Victoria in the 1991 DS) appeared on an episode of the CBS series Criminal Minds that aired on February 21. She played the wife of the suspect in a series of murders in Houston. The title of the episode is "Distress."

She appeared on CSI this past November, so crime dramas seem to be her "thing" lately.

Calendar Events / Announcements '07 I / OT: Vampires/Whedon & The Office
« on: February 16, 2007, 04:08:50 AM »
This is a bit off topic and a little late, but I stumbled on it by accident. Tonight's episode of The Office on NBC was directed by Joss Whedon, (I had to back up the tape to read that again), and it includes a bit about a bat being lose in the office. Jim has a little fun at Dwight's expense (as always) by pretending that he was bitten and is turning into a vampire. West Coast Buffy fans may still have time to catch the episode.  ;)

As those of us who read R. J. Jamison's fabulous Grayson Hall: A Hard Act to Follow know, Hall appeared on Broadway alongside Meryl Streep in the Kurt Weill/Bertolt Brecht musical Happy End in the 1970s.

Until now, there was no English-language recording of Happy End, but a recent production by the American Conservatory Theatre has received the soundtrack treatment. It is now available on compact disc. Granted, it's not the same as seeing/hearing Grayson Hall, but it could be interesting for her fans nonetheless.

Lately, I haven't bothered posting the various airdates for David Selby's movies and television guest roles. (If you're interested in that information, it's posted on his official site which has a site update notification feature.) However, this one has only aired once before as far as I know. so it's probably worth a mention.

End Game, which stars Cuba Gooding Jr as a Secret Service Agent and Angie Harmon as a reporter, will air Thurs., Feb. 15 on Lifetime at noon Eastern. The film involves a plot to assassinate the President. The cast also includes Anne Archer, Jack Scalia, and Burt Reynolds.

This is the movie Selby was filming in Spokane when he appeared at a book signing at the Barnes & Noble there. Photos from the signing are on his official site. Click here.

His role is brief. He plays a homeless man. If you're a Selby fan, it's worth seeing his performance (and then you can watch the rest of the film or not). There are screen grabs of the bearded one from the film on my Selby site. Click here to go straight to them.

Leonard Goldberg, who was Vice President of Daytime Programming at ABC during the DS days is in the news this week because he was named to the board of directors at CBS. I believe he appears in an interview on the DS DVDs. The news release mentions his involvement with DS:

Current Talk '07 I / DS The Beginning DVD Disc Problems?
« on: January 31, 2007, 05:06:11 AM »
I've not purchased the DS: The Beginning DVDs, so I can't comment on this one way or the other. Someone on the Home Theater Forum has posted about disc problems with the last disc in his set:

Thought this could be of interest to anyone here who has purchased the set. May just be an isolated problem.

Calendar Events / Announcements '06 II / Joanna Going on CSI on 11/16
« on: November 16, 2006, 04:41:14 AM »
Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere. I just caught a commercial tonight for tomorrow night's episode of CSI. Joanna Going, who played Victoria Winters in the 1991 DS, will be a guest star. Apparently she plays identical twins who are murder victims. The episode is titled "Happenstance," and you can watch the promo on the CBS web site.

CSI airs at 9:00 PM Eastern on CBS. Check your local listings.

Not exactly supernatural and not exactly DS-related except that it involves a soap incorporating some interesting new elements:

I'm waiting for Wonder Woman to show up on another soap.  [hall2_grin]

Calendar Events / Announcements '06 II / Interesting Remix of DS Theme
« on: October 26, 2006, 04:37:16 PM »
Stumbled across an interesting remix of the DS Theme, "Dark Shadows Cha Cha Cha" on a blog. It would've been a lot more fun if the dialogue mixed in had been from the show itself, but you can't have everything.  [hall2_wink]

This has apparently been circulating online for at least a year, so folks may have heard it before.
