David Selby will be included this Friday evening at 5 PM PT (8 PM ET) in Smartphone Theatre's A Night of Poetry. For fans of the 91 DS series, Michael Cavanaugh is also expected to participate.

These are the same folks that hosted the DS Christmas Carol. You can register via Zoom or watch a stream on YouTube. If you're not able to see it live, it will be archived for later viewing.

David Selby will participate in Ford's Theatre's livestreaming Cabinet Conversations series on Thursday, June 4, at 4:00 PM ET. He will reunite with Necessary Sacrifices playwright Richard Hellesen and castmate Craig Wallace to discuss interpreting history through dramatic writing and actor portrayals. Necessary Sacrifices explores the relationship between Abraham Lincoln (Selby) and Frederick Douglass (Wallace). The event will livestream on the Ford's Theatre web site and social media accounts. It will include a Q&A session, and Ford's is currently soliciting questions on their Facebook page.

In 2015, David Selby was a part of LA Theatre Works' audio drama production of Judgment at Nuremberg as Col. Parker. To mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, LA Theatre Works presented the play on public radio stations and it is available to listen to on-demand for free through Friday, January 17.

David Selby recently traveled to Chicago to film an appearance in the NBC series Chicago Fire. The episode should air at 9 PM ET on Wednesday, February 5 (which also happens to be his birthday).

David Selby's latest novel, A Casualty of Indifference, is available now on Kindle. It will be out in print next month.

As no doubt many of you are aware, the opioid crisis that is affecting the country has been particularly devastating in Appalachia. This is reflected in David's most recent film release, Back Fork, and in A Casualty of Indifference. Last week, over thirty doctors were arrested in a Justice Department operation targeting Appalachia and charged with, among other things, prescribing drugs in exchange for cash and sexual favors.

David Selby was recently on location in Massachusetts to film an episode of Castle Rock, the new Stephen King series for Hulu. It will be available in 2018. J.J. Abrams is the executive producer. Michael Uppendahl directed Selby's episode. They've previously worked together on episodes of Mad Men and Legion.

David Selby has joined the cast of the world premiere play Front Door Open at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles. As has often been the case with Selby's work, he's back together with a co-star from a previous project. This time, it's Joanna Miles, who played his wife in Alone for Showtime. The play opens on November 13 and is scheduled to run through December 13. Details are on the News page of David Selby's official web site.

David Selby has a couple of new books coming out.

Light and Shadows collects the material that he has presented at recent Dark Shadows Festivals. Personalized signed copies will be available to purchase on his official site shortly.
