Since there are only two branches of the Collins family in the future, I think it could be safetly assumed that Carl really had no functional part in the future other than the childish uncle of the heir, Jamison Collins. But Barnabas had no idea what Carl had to do with future events, and his lack of research is really irritating. Barnabas is presumably supposed to have supernatural powers, so couldn't he have just erased Carl's memory? [ghost_azn]

I disagree that in the earlier shows Joan didn't play Elizabeth as Victoria's mother; the entire storyline of Victoria's selection for governess was a huge hint of Victoria's origins. Of course, Elizabeth's fondness grew as the show went on. What I would like to hear in fan fiction is possibly the identity of Victoria's father . . . . [toothy9]

Nothing, it's just that we're supposed to have outgrown it! [ghost_rolleyes]

My friends and I also reenacted various scenes, but not from the show, from the movies with which we were all familiar. I remember just laughing all the way through it, because everyone's kooky nature sprung up during those reenactments!  [laughing1]

I never had any problems with watching Dark Shadows, except maybe that my mind was never on much of anything else when I was smaller and more susceptible to fantasy.

I absolutely love the music  that is playing in the graveyard!  Does anyone know what this track is called??

I believe that the track is called Magda's Curse.

I do wonder what occurred in the unchanged timeline because it was made pretty clear that if not for Barnabas, Quentin wouldn't have ended up in the cottage originally, which is where he was reunited with Jenny, and where she murdered him.

I've often thought that it involved Beth in some way, which she wasn't in the version that is shown to us. Maybe

[spoiler]Beth killed Quentin like she does later on in the storyline, but at an earlier date.[/spoiler]

Also, the skeleton in Quentin's room could have been him until Barnabas changed everything. [ghost_undecided]

Wow! The Millay and Frid scenes in 1897 were always top-notch. You could really feel the hatred and tension between the two characters. Poor Jamison, delirious with fever, doesn't really know what's going on, and that naivete could result in his untimely end. He should've realized when his mother left that he shouldn't trust her. [easter_sad]

I feel for Beth. She's trying her best to protect Quentin from mindless animal killers like Edward and, dare I say it, Barnabas. That secret is such a huge burden to carry.

I'm sorry, I should've chosen my words better. What I meant was nervous, especially the first ones that he directed. It was like the boss coming to check on the workers.

I really like Dan's directing, especially the camera angles used. I have a lot of respect for him.

This is just one of those episodes where everything seems to go right! Beth's concern for Quentin is very sweet, and I love the way she acts like a protective mother hen (though, since Quentin seems to act like a little boy, I guess it's inspired). [easter_wink]

Judith's overly righteous behaviour towards Trask is sickening at best. How Trask could pull the wool down over Judith's eyes with simple religion reminds me of "The Night of the Hunter" (with Judith portraying Willa Harper, of course!) [woryg]

The scene between GH and HAA was great, of course. Well-written and to the point.

Just a great episode overall. [easter_smiley]

From what I can gather from the tone of her interviews, JB may not have loved the show, but she didn't dislike it. I think she relished the movie more than the show, since that was more her bag.

Quentin's first werewolf episode was certainly exciting! It's amazing how DS writers can write a werewolf episode and not have a werewolf in any of the scenes.

Trask's conversations with the women who work at the school at this point in the storyline really repulse me, more than later on. It seems fitting that the only young woman to love Trask is named Dorcas!  [easter_wink]

I don't see why Rachel doesn't just tell someone, even Beth, that Trask is denying Jamison food. You'd think that Jamison's wellfare would over-ride any crime that Rachel may or may not committed in the past. [sad3]

But the PT Trask was essencial to the storyline! He was heavily involved (at least for a while) in the murder mystery subplot! [smrty]
