A Canadian soap about a man trying to revive his dead (or simply nearly dead?) wife via a deal with the evil spirit of his ancestor (represented by a portrait, and who possesses him from time to time). There's a petulant blonde daughter in the mix, a maid with voodoo powers, and an ancestral mansion and a local drinking establishment as its two main sets....

I stumbled across this on Youtube and it's been a...I dunno, a pleasant curiosity? Looks to have more of a budget than DS, but seems to lift so much from it. Its premiere seems to coincide with Costello's departure from DS (please correct me if I'm mistaken). It's also the whitest piece of Caribbean-set drama I've ever seen. 

I don't think they're all on Youtube, but there are less than 200 total; I'm going to try to get through the nine-month run if I can.

Found this at a horror con. I'll guess it's not a new sight to many of the veteran fans, but other newcomers like me might get a kick out of it. How fun it must have been to get one of these in the mail as a kid back then. If anyone knows more about this, please share.

Good evening, cousins. I was hoping some of the old timers ( ) could help me "figure out my past".

I think I might have first seen DS in reruns in the ealry 70s, but have no memory of them. The show captured my imagination when NBC Channel 4 in NYC began running the reruns in the afternoon. It lasted a while, but eventually I was forced to hunt for the 3am broadcasts. This must have been somewhere around 1982 or 83, but I just don't know when exactly. Can anyone help?

Additionally, if anyone can tell me the month and year they began to rerun DS on NJN, I'd appreciate it.

 

I'm hip-deep in Dream Curse episodes. Is it me, or did Willie come out of that mental hospital WAY worse than he went in? He's suddenly got a Maggie fetish, wants to kill Joe Haskell, taunts Adam.  Remind me to not get help with any mental issues in Collingswood.

It's so much fun seeing eps I've never seen before, even if logic didn't renew its contract. Adam is interesting so far - you can tell they like lighting that Frankenbrow of his.

Maggie's dad is back! Without his beard!  Was his absence due to marrying Nancy Barrett? She seems to be on break as well.

I read somewhere that Bert Convy tried out for the role before Frid got it. Does anyone know of other noteworthy performers who auditioned for the part?

What is with the shots of Frid in 1795 clothing hanging around the REAL Old House? He's standing inside, outside, there's snow on the ground...(these pics are on the front and back cover of the Companion - 25th anniversary edition), and I think the pic on the front of the Millenium edition of the Almanac is from the same shoot. I think Volume 7 of the DVDs also features a pic from this. What are they from?
