The production is part of the Players Guild Theatre's 76th season and runs through Oct. 27. Performances are on Fri. and Sat. evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2:30.

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark Shadows (DS), announces the following breaking news.

***** POSSIBLE NEW CABLE TV NETWORK HOME FOR ORIGINAL EPISODES

Fans are urged to join the campaign to help bring the original DS back to TV.

The Sci-Fi Channel successfully re-aired DS in the 1990s and into the early 2000s. SG print newsletter issues published during that time thoroughly reported and detailed Sci Fi's 4 broadcast runs of DS.

Now fans are asked to be part of the grassroots effort to help bring DS back to television on the new Chiller cable television channel, available via digital and satellite services.

It is requested that fans contact Chiller by posting thoughtful and encouraging requests on the Chiller TV website message boards, asking them to air DS reruns. Please visit: http://boards.nbcuni.com/chillertv/

You also can write postal-mail letters requesting DS be carried on the network's programming schedule. Send your letters of support to: Chiller TV Programming Department, NBC Universal, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112.

Please act now - don't delay!

SG will report any confirmed developments.

***** LATEST DS AUDIO CD AVAILABLE WITH FREE BONUS DISC

"Big Finish Productions newly-released Dark Shadows: The Legend Reborn is a special behind-the-scenes CD documentary about the making of the new DS audio dramas. The deluxe double-disc CD is $17.00 (includes postage).

"The release features over a dozen interviews with the cast and crew of the series, including David Selby, Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, John Karlen and Robert Rodan, plus a bonus soundtrack CD of Joseph Fox's haunting scores from the first audio series."

***** CHRIS PENNOCK IN NEW PRODUCTION OF SHAKESPEARE'S "KING LEAR"

Chris (Jeb, Cyrus/John, Sebastian, Gabriel) asks SG to please tell fans that this classic play opens July 13 and runs to August 1 (Chris hopefully adds, "and maybe beyond!").

***** JOAN BENNETT FILM MARATHON ON TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES (TCM) -

INCLUDING "HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS" - AUGUST 15-16, 2007

Before portraying Elizabeth, Naomi, Judith, and Flora on DS, Joan's acting career featured acclaimed film noir movies during Hollywood's "Golden Era" in the 1930s-40s. These roles and others often are noted in retrospectives and tributes like this one on TCM.

The cable network plans a total of 13 films, starting at 6:00 am (EDT) on Aug. 15. The 24-hour marathon is due to conclude with 1970's "House of DS," the first major motion picture based on a TV daytime soap opera. "HODS" should screen at 4:15 am (EDT) on Thurs., Aug. 16.

TCM Publicity:
4:15 am - House Of Dark Shadows (1970)
A vampire seeks a cure so he can wed the reincarnation of his lost love.
Cast: Jonathan Frid, Grayson Hall, Joan Bennett. Dir: Dan Curtis. C-97 mins, TV-14.

Current Talk '07 I / Thurs. Slideshow
« on: January 26, 2007, 03:13:24 PM »
Meant to post this yesterday and forgot.  In yesterday's slideshow there a picture from episode 152 and the description was that Liz was telling Roger that she wasn't going to stand for his treatment of David anymore.  While I applaud Aunt Liz's efforts to stand up for the boy, I have to ask, did anyone else get tired of her telling Roger how to raise his son?  I know he was all wrong and she was right, but that's a pet peeve w/me, ppl telling others how to raise their kids.  Is it really any of her business?  I don't agree w/everything my brother and his wife do regarding their kids, but I say nothing 'cause they're not my kids and it's none of my business.

I don't know, sometimes I feel like smackin' Liz through the TV!  Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Unfortunately, neither Ms. Reese nor the distributor retained copies of the show. Should someone have an audiotape recording of Jonathan's appearance, please notify ShadowGram via e- or postal- mail at:   ShadowGram@aol.com  or  P.O. Box 1766, Temple City, CA 91780-7766. Website: www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com Roger played Jeff Clark and other roles on DS.

*** ALEXANDRA MOLTKE ISLES - NEW DOCUMENTARY RELEASE

Alexandra portrayed "Victoria Winters" from Episode #1 until 1968, when she left DS because she was pregnant with her son. She has become an accomplished director of documentary films.

Her 4th and newest movie opens up the hidden worlds of small, local gardens tucked away in many corners around Manhattan. "The Healing Gardens of New York City" shows the green places and those who develop, encourage, nurture, and love them in the midst of urban life.

The film is available on dvd for $295 or to rent for $85. Contact The Cinema Guild, 130 Madison Ave., Second Floor, NYC, NY 10016 . 800-723-5522. http://cinemaguild.com/catalog/catalog.htm?http%3A//cinemaguild.com/mm5/merchant.mvc%3FScreen%3DPROD%26Store_Code%3DTCGS%26Product_Code%3D2224

 :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::)

Well, twice I tried to do the above on IE7 and both times it gave me the red, blank page!  And this was ONLY when I tried to BOLD the word bold!  It didn't give me the opportunity to do anything to the other words.  It didn't say ERROR ON PAGE though this time, instead it said DONE, but it wasn't posted.  So guess what cousins, tomorrow I'm bookmarking ALL my favorites on Mozilla and not using IE again!

Don't know if this is the right sub-board for this post, but if not just move it to the right one.  ;)

I just noticed this morning that I no longer have to hit CTRL when wanting to view what's in the SPOILER boxes.  I don't know if this is because something is different on the Forums or if it's because I've just upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.  I really think it's because I now have IE 7, but, just so everyone is aware, if you DON'T want to see what's in a spoiler box, don't run the cursor arrow over the white spaces or the text will automatically appear (if you have upgraded to IE7).  ;)

Anyone have a link to the archives section for DS on the Sci-Fi boards?  I want to look up the old Round Robins.    ;)

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark Shadows (DS), announces the following breaking news:

**** DS 40TH ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN PARTY -
LOS ANGELES, THURS., OCT. 26

This special evening acknowledged DS' 40 years and celebrated the birthday of DS music composer Bob Cobert. The career of DS creator Dan Curtis was remembered, following his death earlier this year. Fans were encouraged to wear costumes in the Halloween spirit - thanks to all who did join us in costume, and in such a variety too!

Over 300 fans from all parts of California and from other states gathered at the historic Vista Theatre at the intersection of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards. Activities continued until after midnight.

Brief highlights follow. Details and exclusive behind-the-scenes photos will be published in the upcoming ShadowGram Newsletter, SG #109 print issue.

--- DS guests: Bob Cobert, David Selby, Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Robert Rodan, and Betsy Durkin. Previously-announced guests John Karlen, Jerry Lacy, Chris Pennock, and Roger Davis were unable to attend.

--- Horror genre guests, actresses BARBARA STEELE ("Black Sunday," "The Pit & the Pendulum," and numerous classic 1960s horror films, plus Julia/Natalie in the 1991 DS) and KAREN BLACK ("Trilogy of Terror" and "Burnt Offerings"- both produced/directed by Dan Curtis) were honored as they placed their handprints and signatures in cement in the Theatre's forecourt. Bob Cobert placed his footprint and name in cement there as well.

--- David Selby gave a dramatic recitation of "Shadows of the Night (Quentin's Theme)". Dressed in costume as Quentin, he entered through a thick fog and stood next to a gramophone. Kathryn wore an authentic reproduction of the Josette's wedding gown she wore in the 1970 "House of DS" movie. Lara was wearing a bustle dress which dates in style from the late 1800s; it resembled one in design that she wore as Angelique in the 1897 storyline.

--- A dozen DS melodies were performed live on stage with several layers of modern synthesizers, thanks to musician Jay Asher. Each selection was accompanied by appropriate clips from the original DS and Night of DS.

--- A video tribute to Dan and his career was introduced by reminiscences and comments from Barbara, Karen, and Lara. A pair of movie trailers ("Black Sunday" and "House of DS") then screened, followed by a selection of DS episode bloopers.

--- The Barnabas Collins Look-Alike Contest welcomed half-a-dozen entrants. Audience applause for each awarded Wally Wingert as the winner and he received a number of DS items as his prize.

--- The memorabilia auction included such one-of-a-kind items as the actual wolf's head cane used by Ben Cross in the 1991 NBC primetime DS TV series (winning bid $1250) and the original acetate disc recording by David Selby of "Shadows of the Night" (winning bid $500).

--- Though the hour was late, complimentary autographs were offered by a number of the guests, who also had various books and photos available for purchase. Everyone who attended received 2 special giveaway items: a DS photo and the debuting CD of Bob Cobert's "A Different View." This 13-track CD features his instrumental and lyrical compositions in the big band, jazz, disco, and bossa nova styles, including themes he created for Dan Curtis' 1979 short-lived NBC TV series "Supertrain."

The Cobert "A Different View" CD also will be available as a free bonus item from MPI for customers who purchase the upcoming 8 CD "Dark Shadows Complete Soundtrack Music Collection" boxed set. The set and bonus CD will be available after Dec. 1 from www.mpihomevideo.com or call 1-800-323-0442 weekdays.

SG extends special thanks to Lance Alspaugh and the staff at the Vista Theatre.

The evening event benefited the UCLA Alzheimer's Research Center in memory of Dan & Norma Curtis. Memorial tributes and exclusive photos saluting them are in the current companion SG #107-#108 print issues. The upcoming SG #109 and subsequent print issues will feature details, exclusive guest photos, and more about the Halloween Party at the Vista Theatre. The issue also will showcase the recent DS Festival convention.
