Calendar Events / Announcements '06 I / About B&W Kinescopes
« on: May 20, 2006, 01:35:12 AM »
To me B&W kinescopes in episodes #1006 and #1017 don't match at all. The Parallel Time 1970 storyline doesn't looked good in a B&W kinescope, I wished they colorized the B&W kinescopes from the Color episodes and leave the B&W episodes pre-August 11, 1967 alone and get it VidFIRED. VidFIRE is a process that restore kinescopes of "Doctor Who" episodes to video-look, and they colorized the early 1970s color episodes of "Doctor Who" that survived in B&W. I don't want to disrespect Dan Curtis' memory and his family. I think DS episodes that was in Color, now survived in B&W kinescope, episodes 295,300,318,320,323,325,335,341,344,351,352,368/369,437,509,683,797,813, especially 1006 and 1017 should be colorized. Darn you ABC for being cheapies for now using color kinescopes for color DS episodes.

I was watching "Drake and Josh" on Nickelodeon earlier tonight, the episode "Little Sibling" where Jerry Lacy's wife Julia Duffy guest stars as a teacher, and Jerry Lacy appears in a minor role in that episode.

Last night, I went to Jawtoon's signoff page and I clicked on the Wilmington, NC NBC affiliate WECT 6's sign off from 1998, it had a promo for "Inside Edition", a pubic service announcement featuring Michael Jordon, and sign-off. Guess who appeared in the "Inside Edition" promo for a story about Playboy, none other than KLS (aka DS' Maggie/Josette) herself! To watch the video click to:

Select the Wilmington sign-off from April, 1998

I hope you'll enjoyed it! :)

Current Talk '06 I / Least favorite DS writer
« on: February 06, 2006, 08:19:38 AM »
My least favorite writer of Dark Shadows is Violet Welles because she ruined DS, she was responsible for making Mineva Trask (Clarice Blackburn) accusing Rachel Drummond (KLS) the 1897 governess for being the excesory of the murder of Mineva's brother Simon Bryer, and she and trask accused her of stealing money, but the character of Rachel clams it's her own salary, I hated it. She's responsible for killing of the character of Rachel Drummond, I know that KLS went on a summer vacation to Africa before she returned playing the character of Kitty Soames. That's a lot for killing off Rachel Drummond Ms. Wells.

If I was Dan Curtis, or a castmember of DS, I would write a memo to fire Violet Welles from the DS Writing staff or come to her office and tear her script into pieces in front of her. I don't want to hurt people's feelings and I don't want to be a sexist, but everybody has different opinions, I hated her writing on DS. She reminds me of Arnie Fetterman (Milt Oberman) in the 1991 movie Delirious staring the late John Candy, where Candy's character Gable hated Arnie Fetterman and his storylines. I liked the late Gordon Russell and Sam Hall's writing on DS better. That's why Ms. Welles is/was my least favorite DS writer.

For those who get SoapNet, I've seen this special called They Started on Soaps 5 and one of the clips they showed Abe Vigoda (before he was fish on Barney Miller) as Erza in two 1969 episodes of yours truly Dark Shadows and another from 1970 during the 1840 storyline.

Has anybody seen the special yet?

Current Talk '05 II / Joel Crothers Question
« on: December 01, 2005, 05:56:01 AM »
I like to ask a few questions about the late Joel Crothers.

Is it true that he died from AIDS complications? I know that he died from Lymphatic Cancer in 1985 at age 44. He died the same day as my uncle did, twenty years apart.

Also, is it true that Joel was gay?
