Thanks for the birthday wishes!  This is turning out to be a great year.  I'll end it by "retiring" from a career of 28 years and I feel wonderful about it.  And I love this time of year, the fall colors, cooler weather ... truly a year to give thanks.
 

Tomorrow, Dark Shadows should reach beyond the 150,000 vote mark.  I plan to make a banner for that too and if Moonlight or Blood Ties can join Dark Shadows, that would be another great bonus. Unlikely though, but it would be nice.  Moonlight made today's banner and OMG, I love that picture.  How could anyone "cancel" that?  Ok, I understand, it's not about the man but about other ... [blankety blank] things.   

Lori or anyone else, do you know what the comics finally went for?  I know on Saturday, bids were already over $100.  Those were very popular.

It's interesting how a 3 minute video of a 90 minute talk can be blown out of portion.  It's happened twice now, once with JF and now David's time.  All I can do is view these videos of the DS fest with enjoyment and entertainment but not think of it as the entire time.  I can't believe that the entire 90 minutes of David's time was spend on this one thing, no more than JF talking about Grayson.  OH wouldn't that have been fun!?  I appreciate Midnite's post about what happened and anyone else who might have been there.

I think Jonathan should have been at the cast reunion, since it was right after his SAT presentation...

It would have been nice and I would have loved to see the interaction with them all but I don't know why he didn't stick around.  Must have had a good reason so I'm just happy I saw him for 1 1/2 hours.  I seemed to me that some of the actors, during the Cast Reunion, were very tired.  I had the impression some of them would have preferred to be back stage with JF or anywhere else!  LOL

But they stuck it out and I think it was for all the new fans who wanted to see and talk with them.  David Selby looked like he was ready to fall asleep.  Before JF came on stage, David was performing for 1 1/2 hours and he had to be tired, after seeing that video of him bouncing around on the stage.  I got tired just from watching him. 

I recently heard JF's statement about GH.  I listened to it over and over while dictating his words.  I want to shed light on this subject so others can read what he said about his co-star, the lovely Grayson Hall:

"I had a lot of fun with her. She was a great person to work with, I believe. But I always felt it was over... I was bad enough at times [laughter], but overacting ... but I think there was something a little too much of it, but however every once in a while like everybody on this show... it's a great thing about these soaps I guess, you have a chance to do something at least once or twice or three or four times out of the time you're on the show.  We all had good moments and we all had bad moments and in between. But with all due respect she was ... I liked her and I liked being with her ... but she was, I thought at times, a bit much.  Although that scene right there [NOTE: we saw the scene of Stokes, Barnabas and Julia doing a seance] she was quit good. I shouldn't even be talking like this about her.  I have great respect for her."

I thought JF was very gracious in his sharing his POV with the audience.  It allows us to get to know the person, like the other actors being themselves and having fun on stage sharing a piece of themselves.

However, who knew ... that this year "will be special, as DS devotees will get to to see ... actor Johnny Depp, a long-time fan of the show, who will portray the undead Barnabas in an upcoming film"? I'm guessing the fans who witnessed the latter simply passed out on the spot and have yet to revive, and that's the reason why no one has mentioned it yet.

Although, maybe the LA Times writer simply saw the Fest flyer that could have easily been construed to imply Depp would be a part of the movie panel, and that's where she got that idea.

HUH?? 

Was Johnny Depp there??? WWWOOOOO.

I missed it big time but then again I saw the REAL Barnabas.
