Thank you so much for posting the David Selby segment on youtube.  I absolutely loved it!  Whether I agree about Obama or not, the fact that he is so passionate about it shows alot about his character.  Not embarrassing at all- I think as one other said, it shows another side of David Selby.  He truly is a remarkable person.  I am glad that he shares so much with his fans.

I didn't attend the whole fest or even a major part of it, even though it was in my own backyard.  I heard that there were about 1500 folks attending the festival.  I also heard that the participants of the talent show last night were quite amazing and there were some great singers and clever lyrics presented.

I heard the auction went well and there was a lot of items that went for $$.

I did get to peek around in the autograph line today....I didn't even recognize Roger Davis.  He does not look well at all.  While I agree mentioning what you sold a house for is not really proper, the fact that he was able to sell anything in this market is remarkable....especially here in Southern California.

Marie Wallce was so nice and accomodating and KLS looked gorgeous- loved the pink shoes that matched her top.

Peeked into the conference room and Mr. Frid was entertaining all with his stories....the room was packed and of course, very attentive.

Was nice to see old friends and make some new ones, even if it was a very short visit for us.

Current Talk '07 I / Re: How Did DS Influence Your Life?
« on: June 01, 2007, 03:32:24 AM »
I remember afternoons (especially in the winter when it was too cold to be outside) with my mom watching Days of Our Lives, the Doctors and Another World...we watched them together...her ironing clothes using niagra spray starch and me glued to the tv set.  She always left the room when DS came on- it was time to make dinner for my dad.   I loved all things 60's...the colors, the clothes., instant food, plastic!  DS was no exception...I loved the fashion on the show.  And I felt at home watching the episodes of the Blue Whale- my grandpa used to drag me to a bar similar to the Blue Whale....his bribe was jiffy pop popcorn , orange soda and the chance to play the juke box.

But I also loved the history of the show and that it was U.S. History- which is something that I still love to this day.

This is an interesting thread.  I don't post much and I only go to festivals once in awhile.  i remember the frist one and witnessing the costume gala and people doing the folk song thing...it was amazing!  I had never seen anything like it.  When I have attended, I have enjoyed these events...along with the skits.

People aren't always open to change but it seems like this gathering is somehow different than the others.  It might just be rewarding.  And if it's not...there's always next year....the costumes and dances could wait a year for their debut.

Maybe they could do a survey to see what people really want in a fest and then use the data when they plan the event. [cyclops_ani]

Hi Everyone!  I haven't posted in a long time and haven't had time to visit the board, so I have alot of catching up to do!

I think New Orleans is an excellent idea- I am traveling there in the next month.  Chicago is a great idea too- havent' been there in a long time.  Queen Mary 2...how about the Queen Mary docked in Long Beach?  It is a great place to stay- Long Beach is filled with great places to explore, funky shops, great restaurants and the architecture is great...

Has anyone read any of the new auto biographies?  Thoughts?

That's absolutely fabulous news!  I always loved "Creature Feature" night that we had on Saturday nights where they showed 3 horror movies in a row, complete with host.

Glad to see it back....Congrats Penny Dreadfull!  Wishing you continued success

There is another film that Dan produced that has Dark Shadows music in it.  The invasion of Carol Enders,  It has Meredith Baxter and John Karlen and a glimpse of James Storm in it.  I can't remember much about the movie, except the music was quite familiar.

i believe that Money today just published an article on how Myspace can affect your chances of getting a job by having revealing photos/lots of info on you.  I know that it was just used to find the Duke of Cleveland who was a sex offender who was 22 and visiting a Mpls school....the kids at the school used google and found his myspace account...apparently it was a bit "graphic"

Sorry this is belated...but hope it was absolutely fabulous!

Thank you for the link.  Alias Smith and Jones was such a great show- one of my favorites as a kid.  I vaguely remember Roger Davis...I was just so mesmerized by Pete Duel and Ben Murphy.

It's sad that Halloween is not what it used to be.  But fearful is not necessarily a bad thing- you need to really be aware.  One of dear friend's sister in-law was held up at gunpoint on Halloween.  Two people came to her door "trick or treating" and held a gun to her head.  They took only her purse but it had all of her keys, check book, credit cards etc.  The cops think it was kids since that was ALL they took.

Hi!  Chiller Theatre sounds like fun...is this a traveling type show?  Would love to have met Larry Hagman...he seems so likable.  I used to work in the CNN building in Hollywood and one night while leaving the building...Barbara Eden was standing there in a robin's egg blue suit!   She looked very nice...tiny but her head seemed big (I don't mean it in a bad way- it is just an observation).  The mos stunning person I saw while working in the building was Meredith Baxter- she is absolutely beautiful with piercing blue eyes.
