MB....
Oh, I get it, one must be a prolific poster to have access to the "special" smilies.  :(

Quite an interesting avatar I might add. Looks more like draperies in the larger version. Was it??

Alright, alright....You with my left arm...you with my right arm....I know I'm quite petite, but this is NOT the way I want to get taller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MB...you could explain it to her 'til the cows come home, in extremely minute detail....she'd still have to get the "techies in residence" to do it for her.

Ms. Rainey P.....I guess you just bring out the worst in him!

....the following phrase:

What's wrong with Julia and Barnabas that they're so terrified of Maggie "telling"?  What the hell is she going to TELL!!?   That Barnabas Collins is a Vampire?

Dear Ms. RP,
You know, I thought we had stopped watching DS at about this point (it really was bad at this point, just plodding along, re-hashing the same nonsense, day after day), but as I read this, I could hear your voice, clear as day, shouting that into my ear on the 'phone.
At least you are consistent, my friend.
So I guess we hadn't given up on it just yet.
But I don't remember what comes next.

Unless it's poly/cotton & you can toss it the dryer, I'm not interested. I use my iron for touch ups if what I want to wear didn't come out of the dryer fast enough.

As someone who has spent a tiny amount of time backstage as a costume person...sometimes what you thought was going to be for someone just didn't fit at all, so someone else got it. I think the taupe was originally meant for someone with darker colouring. With TV lighting, Blondes in neutrals can be disastrous.
IMO, Mostoller did not dress Joan Bennett. She may have brought back a lot of possible choices for her, but I think JB eihter chose her own, or someone else did.
I also don't think there were fittings either.

Well, enough prostletizing..I have to get ready for work. So annoying.

E???  Do tell! :D

Dear Midnite,
I would love to, but I'm afraid I've been banished from this thread. It was the Entire Board, but I was able to plea bargain my sentence down to this thread only. I will tell you this though, if you do the math you'll figure it out.
And now that I've violated my parole, au revoir!

Dear Kuanyin,
You forgot to add the writers to your list. I think at this point, they win the award hands down.
I think the "Making the Best of a Bad Situation Award" has to go to all of those you named. Even Jeff Clark. Nobody could have needed to eat THAT badly.

Rainey--you didn't really think I COULD, did you?

Luciaphil,
Re "fashion notes". (I've lost the hang [no fashion pun intended] of thequote box.)
You must remember that most of these women were also models. The wardrobe came from Orbach's. Orbach's was polyester knock-off heaven. The clothes were made for real people, not people (women, mostly) who had to resort to any means necessary to keep themselves ultra-slim to keep their jobs.
It was also still very near the time of bra burning & I like to think that Carolyn (who's real name just flew out of my head) was making her own public statement.  Or maybe she was just really late that day.
Just a few thoughts from someone who lived, ate, breathed. & slept fashion in those days.
Which was one of the reasons I loved watching DS!

Hey Ms. Rainey P,
Speaking of DS invading, & naming children, pet's, etc after DS characters....
I remember a certain Teddy Bear named "E".....

Dear Ringo,
Yes, please let us see a picture of your new "daughter"!!
This is the third dog that has "found us".
There is no better, more loyal companion than a rescued dog.
If you've never taken in a dog (versus a puppy) before, please feel free to discuss any "situations" that might occur.
Our Norman was 1/2 Aussie shepard, 1/2 Malamute.
BE PREPARED FOR THE HAIR!!!!
They have a double coat & the wooly (and I stress wooly) undercoat sheds everywhere. Buy stock in a vacuum cleaner company!!
Lots of luck. They are great companions.

I must apologize for the glitch in my head.

Actually, MB, I think I've figured it out...it seems to go there when it hits "Hee Hee". I guess it thinks it looks like it oughta be Danish! ;D

Dear MB,
It HAS been ages!! We got a VERY nasty virus in our old PC. It ate the D drive, so we couldn't use anything on a CD rom to fix it. It could also detect anything in the A drive that was trying to override it. This happened two nights before we were leaving on vacation.
This is somewhat OT, but I just want to say to anyone out there who might be looking for a new PC....we were going to buy a Dell. Their ad was a complete come on, and when called on it, the customer service/orderboard people...one was ruder (more rude?...I know Rainey P...I'M the editor...it's 3:00 in the morning. What do you want from me?) than the next.
We went to the Gateway Store, and in 15 minutes we were walking out with our new PC being put in our car.
Going from Windows 95 to XP has been a trip. But I'm getting there.
I hope to be making more frequent appearances.
It's good to be back.
Thanks for the warm DS "Welcome Back"!!
abbeymarch

PS: Why does the spell checker keep switching to Danish???????? ?!?
