Thank you for all your kind birthday wishes.  You are such a wonderful group of people.  I am not around much.  As everyone knows I am working full time now and work demands a great deal of my time.  It has been a stressful time in our lives but we keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Thank you once again for your kind wishes.
Can't believe I am 50. How did that happen?

Looks like I will be back in Newport tomorrow if things go as planned.  I am taking my daughter on a college seach.
We will be going to U-Mass Dartmonth and Salve Regina.  That is one of her many reach schools.  She will get in no problem, but what kind of financal aid she gets is another story.  We won't be going to the "Peral" again.  Too pricey.

I haven't been around much lately.  Work takes all the life out of me.  It kind of reminds me of Barnabas sucking the life out of his victims.  Anyway, we are on vacation this week and last.  Yesterday we spent the day in Newport and we had lunch at the Black Pearl aka The Blue Whale.  My family loves the chowder there.  The day was lovely. .  We walked the Cliff Walk and saw "Collinwood" from the distance.  We didn't get a chance to walk around the grounds, we had done that many times before, we were expected for dinner at my sisters.  Anyway, I thought of all of you and had a silent toast to the DS gang with my G & T at the "Peral".

Thank you for your thoughtfullness.  Yes, I survived yet another year.  It seems funny to be able to have a moment for the computer.  Life has been very busy.  Work is trying it's best to lay total claim to my life.  At home having two teenagers I would have to be up at 2:00 am. to get any time to brouse.

I hope all is well with everyone on the board.

What a hoot!  Good for him.  I am envious of the garden and that lovely tree.  I wish I had more time to spend in my garden and I am waiting for spring.....

I thought she looked stunning.  The clothes of that era were also fabulous.  I also have a soft spot for the music of that time period.  The movie itself was o.k.  Those other aspects made it enjoyable for me.

I love the old movies and tend to watch a great deal of TCM and Fox Movie Channel.  There are a few movies that have come out that I have truly enjoyed in the last year  One is DE-LOVELY.  It was wonderfuly done and the Cole Porter music was and is still fantastic.  I also enjoyed Finding Neverland.  Dark Shadows is about all the horror I watch.  I don't go for too much blood and gore.  I do love suspense though.

I feel it is my duty to expose my kids to the great classic movies.  Not to mention the classic DS

Connie, are you sure we aren't related?  That is a classic picture.  We have a few of those with the Grandmother leading the signals.  LMAO

Happy Mother's Day to all those who are mothers, and those who miss there mom's

I will be spending time with my mother tomorrow at a funeral.  Thank god not hers!  It really isn't a sad one we are putting to rest an Aunt that was 95.  She is going to be buried in a country cemetary--might remind some of Eagle Hill.  It will be pouring rain of course.  Than a nice lunch.  My mother loves these things, so she is happy that the hubby and I will be able to go.  I think on Sunday the hubby is going to drive up to my daughters school to start bringing home the first of several car loads of stuff she managels to fit in a 2 by 4 room.

Be good!
