Have any of you on this message board ordered the new audio CDs of "Dark Shadows?"  It's brand new stories featuring some of the original cast of DS.

The first one that came out is called "Return to Collinwood."  That one can be ordered at MPI Home Video.  The newer ones are from http://www.darkshadowsreborn.com

"The House of Despair" and "The Book of Temptation" are already out on audio CD.  "The Christmas Presence" and "The Rage Beneath" comes out in January 2007.

Do anyone know if MPI will re-release the DVDs that were heavily edited?  I really think that MPI should put out new DVDs that are uncut.

Current Talk '04 II / The WB series
« on: January 23, 2005, 12:34:36 PM »
If you go to www.barnabasundead.com they have more information about the WB pilot and the writer of that pilot talks about what he had planned for the series that was never picked up by the WB for their fall schedule.

I am so disappointed that the WB chose not to add "Dark Shadows" to their lineup.  And now I find out that the writer of the new series was going to add my favorite character, Burke Devlin to future episodes.

I don't understand why the WB didn't even have the new "Dark Shadows" for their midseason lineup.  A lot of the shows they had for their fall lineup have failed.  DS would have been a great series for midseason.

All "Dark Shadows" fans need to send e-mail to The WB at faces@thewb.com

There is a strong possibility that The WB may NOT pick up the new series for it's fall schedule.

So please send your e-mail NOW!

For more details please go to www.barnabasundead.com

Mitchell Ryan!!!  ;D

Burke Devlin is my favorite DS character and I enjoyed Mitch's portrayal of Burke.  I was so disappointed when the role was recast.  I thought Mitch should have gotten a second chance.  It's a shame that he wasn't a part of later storylines.

Burke was the anti-hero of DS.  I wonder what DS would have been like if Mitchell Ryan was on it for it's entire run.

Mitch had some amazing scenes with Louis Edmonds and Jonathan Frid.

I also loved Burke's relationship with David.  I always thought that David was Burke's son.  And I was a big fan of Burke and Victoria.

Mitch played the role of Burke with so much charisma.  He also made Burke an interesting character to watch.

I think the new DS should have Burke Devlin on the show.

I think it sucks that the Sci-Fi channel didn't have the common courtesy to finish out the entire run of "Dark Shadows."

I'm a new fan to this series and I think the Sci-Fi channel doesn't show it's viewers respect at all.

DS only had 18 episodes left to the end of the series.  Just 18 episodes.  That's not that many episodes.

The Sci-Fi channel could have easily finished the entire series if they wanted to.  But, they didn't.  They wanted to disappoint the fans of Dark Shadows both old & new fans.

I am happy that the Sci-Fi channel aired the DS series.  But, I am very disappointed that they chose not to air the last 18 episodes of this series.

Current Talk '03 II / Re:Anyone know anything new on WB dark shadows pilot

I'm a new fan to the original DS series and I want more new stories for the WB series.  I think it will be a mistake for the WB series to be a complete retelling of the original DS series.  I think the new series will be a complete waste if it's just the same old stories told again.

Current Talk '03 II / Re:Gerard/Judah's Surprising Lack of Powers
« on: December 09, 2003, 02:45:40 AM »
Gerard/Judah always came across like he didn't care.  He never really question things that were happening around him.  For example he never bothered to find out who killed Randall Drew.  As far as Gerard/Judah was concerned as long as things like that suit his purpose then he didn't care who did it.

Also, he never really bothered to do any real investigations into who tried to kill him.  He just assumed it was Samantha.  And he didn't really investigate Samantha's claims that Joanna was "dead."

I also think that Joanna Mills was a witch.  But, how is it that Gerard/Judah or Angelique didn't know that she was a ghost or possibly a witch?

Joanna had way too much powers as a ghost.

Current Talk '03 II / 1971 & Beyond!
« on: December 09, 2003, 02:34:46 AM »
I don't know why Barnabas, Julia, and Professor Stokes ever think of the harm they cause when they tamper with the timeline.  They did so much damage in 1840 that I don't know where to begin.

Edith shouldn't have died in 1840.  She originally died in 1897.

Angelique shouldn't have died in 1840 as a human.  That means that she couldn't exist after 1840 which means that a lot of the things that Angelique did as a witch Post 1840 didn't happen.

Angelique would have been alive if it wasn't for Barnabas having a romance with Roxanne which caused Trask to be jealous of Barnabas.  Plus it didn't help that he wanted revenge for his father's death.

Also, this means that Roxanne shouldn't have existed in the 1970 or 1970 PT time due to the fact that Roxanne died in 1840 which meant that she wouldn't have a PT counterpart for 1970.

Also, by Julia being in 1840 for a little while her presence created an 1841 PT counterpart.  So there shouldn't have been a Julia 1841 PT counterpart.

I guess the only good thing about 1840 means that Carl Collins should be alive in 1897 and be married to Pansy Faye.

Barnabas and Julia should have just concentrated on their mission and not get so caught up in the lives of the 1840 Collins family & townsfolk.  They changed way too much in 1840 that affected the future.

I think it would have been great if the producers & writers did a 1971 storyline that was about how so much got changed because of what they did in 1840.

Time travel stories are always tricky to do because it's so many details that writers have to remember in order not to cause conflict with stories that have already been written.

Current Talk '03 II / Re:Parallel Time
« on: December 05, 2003, 02:40:30 AM »
Hey remind me. . Julia and Justin are supposed to be whose kids?  Bramwell is barnabas' son. . .and how is there a Julia in PT when there isn't one in RT.. . i know we brought this up last time. . . was grayson afraid she wouldn't respond if her character got a new name or was it just laziness with the writers. . gosh there are plenty of good names out there. . .how about Ophelia.  .that a gothic, maudlin, doomed female name. . ??

I'm new to the DS series and I was wondering the same thing as well.  How is it that there is a 1841 PT Julia when she doesn't even exist in 1840/1841?  Julia is from 1970/1971.

The writers should have had Julia to be another character instead of a parallel Julia.
