Thanks Cassandra,  I had to use a yahoo email address to get to the board but I find it so much more easier to use just one email address for everything.

I think the idea of a 'dumb waiter' thingy is possible in 1840. Afterall, Thomas Jefferson invented it earlier to have wine delivered up from the basement of his house to the dining room.  I pity the poor staff that had to hoist him up to a different floor or lower him down.

I believe you are right as dumb waiters were a common usage during the 19th century and if you were lucky enough to be wealthy, they you most likely had use of one in your home.
But Im sure that Gabriel probably wore that one out!

So true Cassandra. But then Barnabas always did seem to me to be a bit fickle when it came to women!

Thats a good point though. He would have never done that in 1967!  I would have said that it was on account of Roxanne, but he hadn't even met her at that point so go figure! ;)Deb

Deb, Here is a link about the historical villiage of Tarrytown if you want to check it out.

Thanks Cassandra.   It has some pretty interesting stuff on there,  very nice places to visit too.  A couple of my relatives live over there but I haven't been there in ages.  I remembering visiting with them when I was a young child and we took a ride to the old Sleepy Hollow cemetary that's there but thats about it.

Having the fest there looks like it would be much more of a vacation as well as being able to enjoy the festivities. It looks much more relaxed than NY city too! ;)

Wow Cassandra, I love that one of you and James Storm!!
I also heard that he sings and has a few CD's out of his songs.  What kind of music does he sing?  I've heard different accounts from Country n Western to Bluegrass. I always thought he had a deep sexy voice as Gerard so I bet he sings good too.  I would have loved to have been there to hear him sing!

The two of you look great with David!  He is still as handsome as ever too!   He seems to get better looking too as he ages.   :)

Same goes for me!  I loved looking at everyone's pictures!  It was such a joy to see all the goings on and events that took place.  It was great to be able to put a face to the names now too.

It makes me want to try extra harder now to get there next year.

Thanks to everyone who shared their events and posted pictures for us.

Minja and Bobubas, thanks for sharing your pictures.  The one from Ground zero is just so emotional to look at now without the Twin towers there.  That emptiness will always be a painful reminder of the past.

Bobubas it was nice to see the Collinsport players all in costume. I bet they put on one heck of a show!!

On 9/11/2001 I was living about two miles from the World Trade Center. Two people on our block died in the towers. We could smell the smoke for weeks.

Im so sorry to hear this David. How terrible it must have been to have been so close to the event.  I pray this never happens again.   Those of us watching it on tv could only try to comprehend the horror of it all.

Our country and the world has changed so much since then. We are so much more aware now.  And when I think of how those b________  had actually trained over here in the U.S to fly those planes it makes me sick!!   No one had any inckling as to what they were using that flight school for.  We have definetley woken up since then and hopefully, those in charge of any kind of training facilities, chemical depts, etc. will alert the proper authorities when they see something's not right.

I have never been to a DS fest before and since I live in upstate NewYork,  Tarrytown would be pretty  convienent for me to attend.  Another good thing would be my cousins live there.  I havent been to visit in years but maybe now is a good time to start.  I also would like to judge the distance back & forth too.
(Cassandra, you live pretty close to Tarrytown, dont you?)   How far is it fromwhere you are?

I hope they just have it again somewhere.  I would hate to not to be able to attend at least one in my life.
