HORROR OF DRACULA produced by Hammer Films, with three titans of classic horror. Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and director Terence Fisher. A film that is gothic, eerie and has some hypnotic music and great visuals in splended color and sets. This is one of my favorite vampire/hammer films.

BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA  from director Francis Coppola comes this faithful adaptation of Stoker's famous novel. Gary Oldman was excellent as the Count, truly one of the best Drac perfomances, along the lines of Schrek, Lugosi, Lee, Langella and Kinski. Hopkins was great as Van Helsing and the remaining cast was good. Great sets and costumes, make-up and visuals. A gothic extravagannza. One of my all-ime favs.

THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS from Roman Polanski, who co-stars and directs this one with his fiance Sharon Tate and Ferdy Mane and an excellent British cast. This film makes a humoruos spoof towards the vampire legend. Boasting excellent visuals, gothic sets and some really funny moments. Another fav...

SUBSPECIES produced by Full Moon Pictures and written/directed by Ted Niceloua with one of the creepiest vampires ever, Radu. Looking very much like Kinski's Nosferatu. This fim was completely shot on location in Romania with some great sets, visuals and vampire gore. A good low-budget horror film.

NOSFERATU THE VAMPYRE written and directed by Werner Herzog, with Klaus Kinski as a haunting and creepy Count Dracula. This film is the remake of the original Nosferatu. This film boasts some eerie sets and some good visuals. I highly recommend this one.

VAMPIRE HUNTER D: BLOODLUST this is the remake/sequel of the original VHD. In fact this film out does the original in every aspect. With some of the meanest and baddest monsters ever. In which D must go up against. Boasting some incredible visuals and  breathtaking anime...highly recommended!!!

As much as I adore Tim Burton, and love his genius, I could not see him directing DS.  The morbid and freaky factors would go through the roof!

I agree with Miles 23 that my first choices for directors have been a bit too hard core sci-fi. But when I was thinking of directors, I was thinking of people who could slip into the series with a hand at the sci-fi, strange and soapy.  As well as people who could probably use a little variety to their resume.

My hubby, the crypytkeeper, thinks I'm nuts when I do my casting for the show.  I'm making a spreadsheet of actors I 'd love to see in a new series.  He keeps bugging me to get a script written.  He's convinced I'd do a great job.  (I love putting him on the spot! :-*)

I can't agree with Chris Carter.  I just can't.  And I don't know why.  Sweetheart, what do you think about John Carpenter?  That's an interesting suggestion.  But I have been thinking of a series, not a movie.  Could he make that transition?

Goddess, the possibilities are endless!

I think Burton would be a good idea, if it were a time-piece film. Just like Sleepy Hollow was shot. Carpenter to direct a DS film?! Wow what a concept that is, and a good idea too. If it was written well and has some good actors, then hell yeah. I'm sure Capenter could do a mezmerising soundtrack for a DS film, since he composes his own music for just about all his films. And come up with something unique and in the tradition of the original series.

I've also thought of John Badham, who has had experience in both tv and film. Or Barry Sonnenfeld who directed the first two Addams Family films and MIB 1 & 2. Or Russell Mulchay who has experience in film and music videos, or how about Mick Garris, who has directed a few acclaimed Stephen King tv mini-series. Or how about Peter Jackson. There are more....

Hello DS fans, Khanada, my wife, as stated that we were discussing idea's for director's. But what she also forget to mention is that we were also discussing who can we see in starring roles, if DS came back for a film or series.

Directors, I'm not sure either.*headscratch* Good question though. ;D

I'd say Barnabas and the conflict between Josette and Angelique, and her wanting revenge on Barnabas and turning him into a vampire...

Hello DS fans

My wife and I are DS fans and we were debating on if DS were to come back in the form of a film or tv series, who would play Barnabas? Would you change anything about the character in any way? What would he look like, pending on the actor?

Current Talk '02 I / Re: Scariest Character
« on: June 10, 2002, 05:08:53 AM »

For one, I'd say the Ghost of Quentin Collins was scary!!! Those staring eyes, motionless face and no speaking was just chilling. And let's not forget his theme song playing. *eek*! I'd also say Barnabas as a vampire in the 1897 series was scary and when he first appeared in 1966 with the B&W.

This isn't a character but the Dream Curse was scary!
