Carolyn and David would be great. I think David should be David Duchovony, Carolyn should be Jodie Foster, and Amy should be Heather Graham.

Current Talk '02 I / Keep The Fire Going!!
« on: March 10, 2003, 11:48:27 PM »
I write to you today because I have seen diminishment of the fire and spirit among DS fans concerning the hope and prospect of fully restoring Night and House of Dark Shadows to their original versions as approved by Dan Curtis. We must not give up or give in! If Godzilla's parent company is uncooperative, so what? If the higher-ups at Warner Brothers are buttheads, so what? If we never find another scrap of exposed negative relating to DS films, SO WHAT??????? We cannot let the dream die! DS has given all of us hours, days, years, decades of entertainment and we must reciprocate by keeping the fire going!! Do not ask what Dark Shadows can do for you, ask what you can do for Dark Shadows! We have nothing to fear but fear itself! WE HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT!!!!! So come on, DS fans, keep this thread going, keep on posting and sharing your thoughts, and keep the fire going!!

Exuberantly,

DrJulia*

Current Talk '02 II / Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Names on DS?
« on: July 06, 2002, 01:19:08 AM »
I'll start with the baddies 'cuz they're much more fun.

Least fave male name: a close tie between Burke Devlin and Ezra Braithwaite. Burke Devlin sounds like the cliche that he is and Ezra B. just plain sucks. Least fave female name: Bathia Mapes, hands down. In the immortal words of Alfred E. Newman......ecccchhhh. [pissd]

The best male names: Bramwell and Andreas. Bramwell sounds cool and is just plain fun to say. And like the character who had the name, Andreas is mysterious, dark, and ooky. Loooove it! [okb] [crazy]
The best female name: Angelique. Elegant, mysterious, and powerful. [thumb]

Okay, here's the rest of the first storyline. He stops his greatgrandpa from writing the letter and goes back to the future to find Callanwind abandoned, in ruined shambles. :o So Francis talks to the spirit, who sends him back to the 1960s, saying that all will be revealed. He gets there and finds a party in progress at Callanwind. He asks why. A young man tells him that the family is leaving the haunted old home. Francis goes back into the future, summons the ghost of his mother out of a ragged portrait in his room, and goes to the 60s with her. A hypnotism expert, she performs an eerie mass hypnotism on the people of Callanwind to make them stay. Francis and his mother go back to the present where all is well. They have a teary goodbye as she goes back into the land of the dead.

Okay, I'm almost done developing the first storyline. Ghosts, time travel, hypnotism, it has it all!  8)
Here goes:
Francis Callan, the young teen who comes to Collinwood, finds a letter written by his long-lost GreatGrandpa on the day he died. A PS at the bottom of the letter says "No one but you, my wife, must read this." The letter disappears into thin air and Callanwind (the ancestral house) floods. Francis is engulfed by the waves and passes out. He wakes up on the shore of a beach and looks out to the water to see Callanwind sink to the bottom!! He is summoned to the past by a mysterious spirit who tells him that he must stop his greatgrandpa from writing that letter. He succeeds and goes back to the present. More to follow.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: Collinsland Constitution
« on: July 03, 2002, 12:53:28 AM »
Article I
Territory

The Territory of Collinsland does legally contain all of the land of the
former Collinsport, Maine, as well as the small amount of surrounding docks
and waters pertaining to its ports. The large amount of woods in the outskirts
is heretoforth declared a Collinsland National Park area, and will be
protected as such. Neither construction or destruction is allowed. Visitation
rights are granted to Collinsland citizens, and visitors must obtain passes
from park rangers. Any tampering whatsoever is closely monitored and will
elicit a $2,145 fine.

Article II
Rights of Individuals

Collinsland citizens have the following rights:
1. Right to reasonably nondestructive time travel
2. Freedom of speech, press, religion, and assembly
3. Right to a fair trial
4. No cruel or unusual punishment
and
5. No unreasonable search or arrest
Non-citizens have rights 2 through 4. They must obtain a time-travel permit
from a Collinsland court of law, given out at the discrepancy of the judge.

Article III
Interferences With Time Lines/Time Travel

Collinsland citizens may engage in reasonably nondestructive time travel, to
be determined by a court of law. Non-citizens must obtain a pass, as
aforementioned in Article II. Any time travel means are allowed so long as
they do not cause bodily harm or destruction of property to any other person.

Article IV
Supernatural Occurrences

As supernatural occurrences are commonplace in Collinsland, provisions may be
taken by citizens to protect themselves. A Collinsland Supernatural Guard has
been established to immediately respond (by teleportation) to the scene of a
dangerous occurrence. A citizen or non-citizen of Collinsland may call upon
the Guard in obviously dangerous occurrences only. The person in danger may
use their good judgement to call the Guard. Repeat offenses (calling upon the
Guard in non-dangerous situations) will elicit a $100 fine, increasing $100 in
each consecutive offense.

Article V
President

The President of Collinsland shall be elected every four years (2002, 2006,
etc.). Presidents may serve only two terms. If they commit extreme offenses
against the right and/or well-being of Collinsland and its citizens, they can
be impeached. The impeachment process is as follows: a public vote is held to
decide if the President should be impeached (yes or no). The President is the
head of the entire country, and he can appoint as many advisors as he needs,
but he has final decisions in all matters.

Article VI
Courts

There are three courts in Collinsland: Small Claims, Large Claims/Appeals, and
Supreme. The Small Claims court deals with fairly trivial matters (marriage,
divorce, land ownership, etc.). Large Claims/Appeals deals with larger matters
and appeals from the Small Claims court. Supreme deals with extremely
important matter (murders, werewolves, etc.) and appeals from the Large
Claims/Appeals court. There are six judges (one in Small Claims, one in large
claims, and four in Supreme) elected by the people every four years on
off-presidential years (2003, 2007, 2011, etc.).

Article VII
Lawmaking

There is 10-member House of Laws. The representatives must be 18 and a
Collinsland citizen. They are elected by the people on the same years as Court
elections. Laws are first presented as bills and must be passed by at least a
6-4 vote in favor.
