I don't understand it either, Uncle Roger.  What do these fanatic "fans" want?  A line-by-line recreation of the OS?  As much as we love it, it was far from perfect.  The comedic aspects of '12 regarding Barnabas trying to understand and deal with the culture and technology of 200 years was not only funny but brilliant.  So much better than the OS, '91 or '04 versions that had him fully understand it all within 48 hours so he could slip into society (how utterly preposterous; what did he do? - have Willy give him a crash course in everything from history to how zippers work?).  And '12 paid greater homage to the OS story than '91 or '04.  Sorry, but Victoria was not the reincarnation of Josette - Maggie was.  Both '91 and '04 committed heresy.  In '12, Maggie Evans remained Josette's reincarnation; she made up the name of "Victoria Winters."

I agree with Carter's portrayal of Dr. Julia Hoffman.  If the OS had not been restricted by the controls of the times, this is what Julia would've been like.

Michael:  "You need to understand my powers.  If you don't do what I want, I'll leave here and get the lead role in Oliver! and you will end up with nothing."

I remember that episode (when it first aired, and then on a GSN rerun).

I always thought it was interesting that the Titanic struck the iceberg on the night of April 14 and sunk in the early morning of April 15.  Maybe there's something cursed about April 15.  After all, it is tax day.  Need anyone say more?

Even though I was a tween watching this plot-line unfold towards its end (and I actually loved it for the most part - my only disappointment was not seeing the creature in its original form), I thought the whole, ahem, Vicki's-boyfriend-from-the-past wanting revenge for what the creature did to Vicki, even though it was unreleased back then (but then maybe it was and they blew it for some reason-or-another, which might've worked if it had been explained out) as just silly.  How could a human spook harm a creature older than the human species?
