Barnabas was scandalized when he read in one of the old journals in the Eagle Hill Cemetery's caretaker's office that his family made their fortune in garlic and tent stakes.

Current Talk '09 I / House of Dark Shadows and Darkness at Blaisedon

I just got a pirated copy of HODS that was recorded from tv. Does anyone know how much was cut out? It seems like there should have been more to the story (especially true for NODS I thought). I remember seeing this at the theatre and was scared stiff and thinking how very, very different it was from the tv show. More violent, bloody, etc, which I didn't appreciate at the time.

I watched some old Charlie Chan movies and the dvd features contained a comparison of the old film and restored version. What a difference! Would love to see the same restoration applied to both these movies. Perhaps as we get closer to the new movie, they will be re-released that way.

Has anyone seen the movie Darkness at Blaisedon? Are there any dvd copies available anywhere? I only see one vhs copy available at amazon for over $30.

I can't even pull it up myself as I did it in the old WordPerfect format which Microsoft no longer (except with expensive software) will no longer recognize.

Have you tried googling free or trial conversion software? I did a quick search for convert wordperfect to word and found quite a few hits. Just a suggestion.

I'd love to read your version!  [snow_smiley]

I believe it was the Leviathan story where I first started watching DS. Can't remember much of that storyline now till I rewatch the episodes  [santa_smiley]

I hear you about incomplete story lines. I'm finding that the writers are introducing all new characters and stories that some seem to go by the wayside. For instance, though bear with me as I'm just watching this story arc, we are introduced to Quentin then haven't seen him again, at least not by episode 650 (I think). And, where did Adam go? Vacation? He hasn't made an appearance at Collinwood for a long time now. I"m sure that gets resolved as it also involves Barnabas and his vampirism, but to just leave the viewer hanging...

Still in all, I remember the days when if you missed one show you were completely lost the next day!

We had a bunch of snow over the weekend. Did someone else here keep Mrs. Johnson busy with the shoveling? I was hoping to find her outside doing my driveway  [santa_azn]

Current Talk '07 II / Once a vampire, always a vampire?
« on: December 11, 2007, 05:22:27 PM »
I'm currently watching all the DS episodes, courtesy of Netflix, and am up to where Vicky goes back in time with Jeff/Peter, Joe is losing it because he saw Chris turn into a werewolf and Quentin's spirit kills the medium that visits the house. Anyway, my question is did Barnabas ever change back into a vampire in further episodes? He hasn't shown his fangs since Julia 'cured' him and I was wondering if he ever went back. Last time I saw episodes of this show, I was a junior in high school and that was a long time ago and I can't remember.

Thanks for your suggestion. Also, thanks Patti! I'm doing just what you said and it is so much easier to keep track of new posts that way. I'm still going through old posts just to catch up though.

That afghan!  [santa_grin] But, is this the multi-colored  granny afghan or the one with, I believe, orange and green granny squares? Both figure prominently in everyone's house. I'm off to do a search for the traveling afghans...  [santa_cheesy]
