I am trying to deal with the idea of no more "Shadows".  A sense of mourning seems to hang in the air.  I have to at least thank Sci-fi for letting me revisit a place that is special to me.  And now at least I have seen the show in it's entirety.  It has been a place to visit and help escape for awhile from the ups and downs of daily living.  I can only hope the many tapes I have filled will last the test of time.

It has been a crummy day and this last bit of news is just the frosting on the cake!

Current Talk '03 II / Julia's Cape
« on: October 21, 2003, 02:58:22 AM »
I just have to say that I thing the cape Julia gets to wear in this time period is just beautiful.  In fact I think this is the nicest piece of the wardrobe she ever got to wear on the show.

I have been hearing a lot of ads for Spooky World on the radio.  I have never been and truthfully have no plans to attend.  This special attraction has been going for a number of years here in MA.  Just wondering if any of the DS actors were ever guests.
I just crack up eveytime I hear the guests this year are Mickey Rooney and Rex Trailer.  Those of a certian generation here  in N.E.  grow up watching his show on Sat. mornings.  He sang the Boomtown song on the radio and the darn thing keeps popping into my mind.  Oh ya, I did meet him once in Filenes along with Major Mudd.

Boom, Boom, Boomtown,

Birdie--now if the DS actors were there, I think I would somehow manage to fit a visit into our plans

Current Talk '03 II / Re:Quick to Judge
« on: October 15, 2003, 10:16:39 PM »
Patti,
I think we are all guilty of judging too fast.  When I first watched DS as a child I didn't care for Pro. Stokes or Thayer David.  It of course it was all based on looks,  hey I was only 12 what did I know.  I have come to admire him as the fine actor he was.
Sorry to say even as an adult I have been know to judge too fast.  We hired a new girl at work and I was assigned to train her.  Let me tell you she drove me nuts.  Today she thanked me for all my help and told me how I made her feel so much more at ease.  Luckily  I did not show her how crazy she drove me.  I still feel like dirt because I judged her too fast.  Thank you for letting me vent.

I also wish they had given the actors chances to play different types of roles.

 1. 1795-- I have always enjoyed stories about people from the future who somehow manage to get transported into the past.

 2.  I would have had her find out who her parents were.

  3.  Anyone but Jeff Clark... Maybe have Burke come back

$.   Elizabeth and possible some romanctic "wrong" person from her past.  Would have made an interesting story line

  5.   I don't think it would have made that much of a difference.

Thanks for the heads up.  I will have to remember how to set my VCR, it seems like forever since I have used it.

I have to vote for when he first came on the scene.  He was compelling to watch.  Fastinating in the tortured vampire and yet so very willing to take what he wants.

Remember I am in my 40's and everything is starting to go, eyes, hearing, my mind.  Of course at work they tell me I am mature, little do they know.
