11 men and a girl sounds like a porn title. actually used to run this movie when i worked at the atlantic city tv station where we also ran DARK SHADOWS. joe e. brown also stars in it.

not surprised to hear that PROM is bombing. McDonnell was great but the story wasn't.

i saw PROM on a sneak preview wed night and agree with the review. he looks and acts just like depp.

happy belated birthday to both of you!

i for 1 am looking forward to a 3d dark shadows. alice was great in 3d. drive angry looked stupid just from the ad so i dont think thats a surprise that it tanked. i think the movie industry made a mistake by adding the 3d extra charge to movie tickets causing people to boycott them.

kelly ripa was born in new jersey in oct 1970 so she was an infant during the last year of ds on abc. she would have been 5 or 6 when wkbs tv in philadelphia was showing the reruns in the mid 70s and could have viewd that station in new jersey. most likely she saw it in the early 80s on the new jersey network.

BARBRA STRIESAND was a big fan. she even cast DAVID SELBY in one of her movies UP THE SANDBOX because of his acting in DARK SHADOWS. JACKIE KENNEDY was also a fan. WHOOPIE GOLDBERG stated she used to watch it on an episode of THE VIEW.

i watched the invaders when i was 6 and 7 yrs old and then again in reruns. i recently saw the 1st season dvd collection. i highly recomend the dvds! quality is excellent and roy introduces each episode! they also include an extended unaired pilot episode, an interview with roy thinnes where he talks about seeing a real ufo and also included are the original abc promos for the show.

ds also ran around 1981 in atlantic city, nj at a tv station i worked at called wwac tv53. we were the last to air the 1st 2inch syndicated tapes that worldvision created. this included the famous outake with grayson hall and jerry lacy where the director yelled "cut' and grayson asks "why?" and cameras start panning all over the place. this is included in the mpi blooper dvd and the vhs tape because i recorded and saved it and gave it to jim pierson. it was later corrected and removed when wnyc in nyc aired it. wwac was the 1st station to go beyond the 1st 260 syndicated episodes. we showed about 300 episodes ending in the middle of the dream curse storyline. we probly would have shown the whole series but alas it wasnt meant to be. the station had financial problems and went off the air leaving atlantic city with no more ds and me with no job!

Current Talk '11 I / Re: VHS collection - to sell or not to sell
« on: January 06, 2011, 06:20:21 AM »
i tried selling my vhs ds tapes years ago with no takers. the most notable thing cut from the dvds is the bathia mapes blooper where a stagehand yells out her lines because she cant remember them. its on the mpi blooper dvd or blooper tape. the other cuts are minor technical errors and then they stopped the paractice of editing anything out.

i wonder if those vhs tapes were from me or from louis wendruck that ran the fan club in the mid 80s. i think we both placed ads for the club at the end of the tapes. was the address in west hollywood? the club stopped running years ago but victoriawinters runs one here in socal now. i first watched an episode of ds in 1967 with my older sisters. it was the 1 where sarah helps maggie escape from the old house. didnt watch it regularly till it came back in reruns in the mid 70s in philadelphia and then again in the 80s when i worked at a tv station in atlantic city that aired ds and then again a couple years later on nj network and yet again when i moved to socal and kdoc showed it in the late 80s and then again on sci fi/mpi vhs and dvds.
