It's a shame that I almost never look ahead to see which episodes are on - and even if I had, I might not have remembered offhand that it was "his" episode.  Usually, I'm watching and see what comes on, and by then it's too late to notify anyone.

It IS the scene in the magic shop.

MeTV is repeating the Columbo episode in which Thayer has a nice scene.  I would guess that it's about halfway through it, but certainly don't remember that for sure.  If anyone's up to see this, it just started.

Current Talk '16 II / Collins family dates
« on: October 30, 2016, 06:40:08 AM »
I hadn't remembered that shortly before the planned wedding to Jason, Elizabeth was looking in the family bible and it listed the family members and their birthdates - Roger - September 14, 1925, Elizabeth - February 28, 1917, and Carolyn - July 16, 1946. We often speculate about Carolyn's and Vicki's ages.  In the flashback conversation between Elizabeth and Paul, Carolyn is mentioned as being 2, and Elizabeth was "confined" to Collinwood for 18 years = 20, which 1946 to 1966 would be.  So, they were consistent that time!

What surprised me was that Roger, 8+ years younger than his sister is listed first and she's underneath!!

Every weekday Decades has a show called "Through the Decades" before their other programming, repeating for 4 showings a day.  During the DS binge they announced that on Monday (10/31) one of the topics will be the debut of DS and why it became a cult classic.  It starts a 7 am, so the other showings are 1 pm, 7 pm and 1 am the next day.

Current Talk '24 I / Re: Depp/Burton DARK SHADOWS Is In Release!!

It will also be on Friday the 28th at 8:20 PM and Saturday the 29th at 2:35 PM.

And, on Syfi on Nov. 2 at 10 PM and Nov 3 at 6:30 PM.

I was hoping HBO would get it again - I had to get a different DVR and so lost the one I had and was hoping to record it again, but I don't want it from a station with commercials.

I just checked the on-screen program guide from Comcast - it doesn't start until 1 in the afternoon and the first episode listed is 708, so that would seem to be the correct info.

As for the ep itself, apparently the more things change, the more they remain the same because even though it originally ran in 1976, given the subject matter, it could have easily been made today.

I had forgotten what the episode was from the last time until it started.  It was nice to see him have such a major role - usually "our" stars seem to get bit parts.  It really does seem to have come straight from today's news.

[For those who haven't seen it - it involved a Hispanic boy being shot by a white policeman (we see that he was aiming a gun, but his family and the community insist he wasn't) - Selby is the policeman who shot him and there are the resultant tensions between the community and the police plus the effect on Selby's character.]

Glad I caught you - I usually don't discover these things ahead of time to alert anyone, and when it's this late I never know whether to bother.
