Current Talk '04 II / If Elizabeth and Roger knew Barnabas' secret
« on: August 09, 2004, 11:44:29 PM »
Barnabas was always worried about Liz and Roger discovering his secret, believing they would have him destroyed.  But I wonder if that would have happened.  If it was 1967, then yes they would have saw to it he was killed.  But after three or four years, with all he had done for them, I think it would not have happened at all.

At first they would be horrified, but then wouldn't they have had some sympathy for him and try to help him out?

I never liked the Maggie/Barnabas in love angle of the Leviatian storyline.  It came out of nowhere-prior to 1897, Maggie never showed any interest in Barnabas.
During Leviathan, When Josette's ghost tells Barnabas she is at peace and he is to move on with his life, giving her ring back to him, what does Barnabas do?  He gives it to Maggie, the current Josette lookalike!
Joel Crothers appeared on the return to 1796 episodes live, not in tape flashback.

That was what happened to George Washington, the doctors bled him thinking he would overcome being sick, but they bled him too much and he died.

i'm now watching the post-1795 peter bradford eps.i really don't like him.he's not good enough for my sweet vic :-*.he seems unpopular with fans in general...why was the actor repeatedly brought back as other characters?contract?

Dan Curtis liked him, so he kept bringing him back.  Having him play Ned Stuart in the present and then two characters in 1897 (Dirk Wilkins and Charles Delaware Tate) was a big thumbs down for me.  Charles Tate was introduced barely two weeks after Dirk was written out!

Perhaps the body Peter took in the present time was that of Ned Stuart?

Ned appeared on the scene a few weeks after Peter and Vicky left, so perhaps Ned "awakened" after Peter's spirit left him and took some recovery time before he was able to care for his sister Sabrina again.

Current Talk '04 II / Barnabas and Burke

Given the fact that
burke was killed in a plane crash so soon after Dr. Woodard was,
do you think Barnabas had anything to do with it?

Could Barnabas have learned the mechanisms of planes in his spare time?

Is that Carolyn Groves or Betsy Durkin behind Jonathan Frid & Nancy Barrett?
I think that when Barnabas was cured of being a vampire, it caused Carolyn to forget she was bit by him.
Though, why does Julia have a scarf around her neck?

I had a problem on DVD #1, Disc #1 in that the episode with Burke and Carolyn at the Blue Whale started to freeze.  I returned it to deepdiscountdvd and they sent me a good one in exchange.

Current Talk '04 II / Barnabas' First Night in 1967
« on: July 18, 2004, 04:50:21 PM »
Looking back, it would have great to see Barnabas rising out of the coffin the night Willie released him.  How he dealt with Willie, seeing that he was planning to break into his own mother's grave, really must have been severe.

And then there is the first walk outside of the cemetary, seeing the modern technology and the explanations given by Willie as to the current family and the world in general.

These are scenes really missed but DS was keeping the audience in suspense at the time.  It would have made for a great flashback though.

I think BD was intended to be permanent but she just didn't work out and they decided to write Vicky off the show.

Carolyn Groves was a better Victoria Winters though, if she had taken the role instead of BD, Vicky may have stayed on.

They should have had Dr. Guthre continue on DS, he would have been perfect for the Barnabas storyline.  DS did not have another character like him until Prof. Stokes arrived almost a year later.
