So there will be no more Robservations until Sunday.

AAACK!  That long?  :(

Pinky: What do you want to do today, Brain?
Brain: Try to take over Sci-Fi and reinstate Dark Shadows!

It's great seeing the picture of Dennis Patrick.  Jason McGuire is one of my favorite characters.  I hope he'll still be around when I finally make it to a con.

I always thought it would be cool for a bunch of DS-lovers to actually film a favorite episode or scene verbatim.  It would be an interesting experiment in drama and filmmaking -- and not to mention a lot of fun!  :D

Sorry I didn't directly answer your question, Dr. J.  :(

Just a quick note to say that I've updated my site with the cover graphic for the second DS DVD Box Set -- check it out http://www.collinwood.net and click "News"

I've also added 60 new summaries to the episode guide, covering the period up until the 1795 flashback.

Cheers

Stuart

Stuart,

Thanks for the Summaries!  ;)  (Ahem, Bob Hope anyone?)

Current Talk '02 I / Flubbing common?
« on: June 24, 2002, 10:55:39 PM »
Was it common during DS's era for other soaps to do the "one-pass videotape no editing" gig?  Did other soaps at the time air with a lot of flubbed dialogue?  Or was ABC simply too cheap with DS?

Current Talk '02 I / Re: How to Avoid the Dream Curse
« on: June 24, 2002, 07:05:13 PM »
If a person is deprived of REM one night, the next night they experience longer periods of REM to make up for the loss.  And wouldn't the curse persist until Vicky finally dreamt it?  In the meantime she would be suffering detrimental mental and physical effects of the lack of REM sleep and disrupted sleep.  So if the dream itself didn't get her, the lack of dreaming would!

As for the earplugs, you know how the "fine print" of these spells work:  the dreamer would have no rest until the recipient actually heard the dream  :)  The best solution is the Hoffman way:  give them a sedative!  ;D

LMAO! That's hysterical! I love Barnabus's face! And they had the cane, too! *giggles* I wish I'd lived when DS was all the craze...... *le sigh*

If you had, you would've wanted to be at least in your teens to enjoy it, so you'd be in your 50's now.  If that's what you really want, Daphne, I know someone who can arrange it -- for a price!  :o

Has anyone here ever seen a Marvel comic called Spoof published in 1970?  It did parodies of tv shows/movies and one issue featured "Darn Shadows" and its star "Barnacles Crawlins"  ;D

I have a few beat up copies including the Darn Shadows issue except it's missing its cover.  If anyone has one and would care to scan and post the cover image, or who knows where there is an image on the web, please reply.

Current Talk '02 I / Re: HODS question

In a similar "vein" (BLAH!) is there any interest by the wabbit in releasing HODS and NODS as they currently are on DVD, sans restoration?  Widescreen DVD would still be better than the current VHS.

Perhaps her daddy being a Danish count and diplomat had something to do with it?  NAAAH!  She must've slept with the producer  ;)

Julia is a terrible doctor, of course, at least as written by the DS writers, who probably had absolutely no counsel with any real doctors and made everything up as they went along.

Sorry, no money in the budget for such frivolous things as researching facts.  DS was style over content  ;)

Hell-a-cool site!

The missing scenes are a riot, though I was expecting to read Barnabas flub his lines.  And I thought there was a missing scene where Willy was jealous of Quentin for capturing Barnabas' affections and he pee'd on him or something?  ;)

You should turn the top of the page into a "Bop Julia" game!  :D
