I also remember boys wearing some of the creations of clothing David wore.  Frank Garner and Burke would not have been considered nerdy back than.  I pulling at my memory to picture some of my older sisters boy friends.  They dressed and acted somewhat like them.  At least at first.  Joe was so normal.  I don't think he fell into the nerd world either.  Plus I think it was mentioned he played football in high school.  That would have put he in the cool group.

Birdie--who was a nerd in high school, at least far from the cool kids

Back from vacation.  It is going to take me days to catch up on DS.  I remember being so devastated when my Mother told me that Dark Shadows was going off the air.  I tape the last episode on a tape recorder that looked very much like the one Dr. Lang used.  Let's just say I did a much better job with it.  The tape recorder is gone.  It most likely is in the attic at my older sisters house.  It was her recorder.  Someday she might crank it up and low and behold she will hear some music and the voices we would know in a minute.  She would be expecting to hear recordings of the lovely voices of her teenage friends in a CYC show.

I like cats, but my husband doesn't.  We have a small toy poodle.  He doesn't think she is a real dog either.  Guess who plays with her every night.

Birdie and her little dog too

Have a wonderful trip.  I will be vacationing also.  We head out Sunday for Orlando.  Road trip.  I think I convince the hubby that the T.V. does not have to be unplugged and to let me set up the VCR.

Enjoy

Hey, my mother wears that green all the time.  Sometimes it scares me.  Actually, I think it looked good on Liz and Cassy.

Birdie--if you ever see a woman who looks like the cartoon charactor on the Hallmark cards, you know Maxine wearing a strange color green, you guessed it she is my mom

I love my garden.  I started a perennial garden about 6 years ago.  My elder aunt told me these were great and no maintance.  Of course she didn't tell me it would reach this state when I was 90 like she is.  I have a few herbs in mine.  I have chive and a lemon sage.  Maybe Mrs. J. used chives in her cooking.. hehe.  I love to see what takes and to see it come back every year a bit larger than the year before.  Our soil is not that great so it takes some working on.

I read somewhere that Mr. Frid enjoys gardening.  That is my DS tie to this thread

Wow, you made me think.  I don't know anyone who shares me birthday.  I will have to check out the site mentioned.  Just picked up the "almanac" and noticed a few interesting things in the Birthdates/Deaths/ listing.
Roger Davis was born on April 5th.  My older sisters anniversary, also the day my dad passed away.  The anniversary and death were not the same year.  It is also my children's pediatrician's birthday. Don't ask how I know this.  Just know she is my hero.

Also found out that John Lasell was born in Worcester the place I grow up.

Loved it, especially the playing pieces.  I could see that on my game shelf  We would have to fight on what version to play,  DS, Star Wars, Disney... That is if we ever really had the time to play.

The candle thing really bugged me.  Did Adam not lose it and destroy the lab in a temper tamprum?  Let the kid/man burn himself or light the place on fire.  Juia is "suppose" to be a doctor.  You would think she would have left him some books, simple toys, etc,etc,..  Wouldn't you leave your child with a guy who just came out of a sanitarium?  Let's see what could he teach him?

Just took a semiar on the "Repectful Workplace".  The one thing that was stressed was common sense.  That is one important than all the I.Q scores and degrees.

Maybe the B-Man nad Julia should take a course

Another case of poor parenting.  I guess Barnabas just doesn't know any better.  Those of us who are parents know that even when your child is just getting a shot you sit on the other side and hold their hand.  Let's face it Barnabas is not the warm fuzzy type.

Dear MB,
Boy am I confused I did receive an e-mail from my niece telling me their computer was infected with this so called virus.  As yet, I have done nothing.  I printed the e-mail to show my husband and than of course because I was on line I thought I would check our forun.  The light bulb went off in my head and I remember the message you had posted.  I am also printing that to show him.  So I should delete anything?  Should I let my niece know this is a hoax?  We share several of the same addresses and I see they forwarded it to other family messages.

Thank you so much for always thinking of us.  You really are a wonderful talented guy.

Just remember you guys started this.  Cassandra finally confusing to Roger about her relationship with Barnabas.

"Yes, Yes,  HE WAS MY BOYFRIEND'"

I was thinking the same thing while watching yesterdays episodes.

Just imagine Barny and Adam tap dancing to Putting on the Ritz.

I think they mentioned that David was in Boston.  Hey, a trip to Boston can cure you of just about anything.  We don't know who he was suppose to be staying with.  A mystery relation perhaps.

Birdie==maybe I should go to Boston......

I only new one boy in my 6th grade class who had one of those very in "nehru" jackets.  He was the real wise --- in our class.  We were way to middle class for the "in" clothes.  My mother never let me have white go go boots either.  I am still crushed.

Another thing if my son could not speak or hold a pen, never mind calling the family doctor.  I would have rushed him to the hospital.
Roger Collins please take parenting 101.

I love Mrs. Johnson.  Clarice Blackburn was a superb actress.  How many of us know a person who is like Mrs. Johnson, a tell it like it is person.
She always is on the mark.

Birdie-- who is afraid as she gets older she might just say whatever she wants to anyone.  What is it when you hit 40?
