Thank you for putting up with my comments on the 2 previous posts as comments. But I do have one thought one thing hasn't really been talked about. Tom and Julia, Angelique the Vampire and Barn the Victom. Also I always wondered what happened to Adam. Was the connection lost when Barn went back in time.Well, to paraphrase Frid when he appeared on What's My Line, I think the writers knew what side their bread was buttered on; a tortured vampire is a lot more ratings friendly than a human with spikey bangs and relationship issues
My personal viewpoint is that the writers always wanted Barn to be the Vampire.![]()
I couldn't understand Eve's obsession, thought process and motivation at all, which was probably another reason why I never liked that whole Adam story line. She was obviously an intelligent, highly self-serving woman, so instead of hanging around there, allowing herself to be put through all the crappola she had to endure in order to find some way to make things work for her favor, why didn't she just pack a bag, snitch some money from under Nicholas' mattress, and catch the first bus out of there? I mean, would you put up with having to pretend you like some guy that would cause the cast of Extreme Makeover to scream, take the condescending attitude and bullishness of Nicholas, and why-oh-why would you want to get some wus to like you?I tend to agree. They did almost nothing with Eve. She was there as a prop for the Adam story and I don't think the writers gave her much thought beyond,"hey wouldn't it be cool for Adam to have "Eve?" Though based on her behavior she ought to have been called Lilith (Adam's first wife).
Thanks for the heads up.And a general question: Who exactly owns DS these days with regard to broadcast/syndication rights? Is the show even available to be broadcast if some station wanted to?
Nelson (and loril54), check out replies #37, 38, 41 or 44 in this topic.
SoapNet made an effort to show DS for quite some time-- they've publicly said as much. The issue was cost.
