My grandmother also had the same number of children as your grandmother did with the same age difference between the oldest and the youngest.  Was your grandmother Italian and from the Bronx with a last name beginning with "P"?

LOL joey but no that greatgrandmother was english from nova scotia she had a great sense of humor probaly from dehydration!
funny both of my grandfathers were italian from boston though!

OT --

Just thought it was worth mentioning again that cousins (registered members) might want to record the e-addresses of any or all of the board mods.  Email addys are not visible to guests, regardless of whether or not the box to hide online status is checked.  This is a very good thing since it conceals them from pesky searchbots and spammers, but waiting until you're unable to log in is not the time to decide you need to find a way to contact us off the forums.  ;)

good point midnite i did remember my password (weird since i NEED GINKO ) but  my first reaction when i saw guest was the same
i thought i did something wrong again! [8_2_74]

the sibling bickering between Judith, Quentin, Carl and Edward is priceless and well executed by the actors although the age range is quite staggering.  .Bennett was 59 at the time and John Karlen was 33.  It was fiction I know--but sheesh that's quite a spread and it is apparent---But actors always play with dates, ages, etc.  For instance, Barbara Bel Gedes who played Miss Eliie on Dallas is only 7 years older than Larry Hagman!  :o

my greatgrandmother had 12 children and the oldest was 26 when the last one was born ick! the poor woman was always nursing!

1897 is my favorite Patti (1795 a very close second)

just finished it and i did like it. It has DS written all over it even though she did change a few things
and i'm not siure i liked the ending or not! i see some of your points Maine girl but guess i liked it
because it was DS and Willie. it is choppy and jumps around a lot and i quess i'd like to see a review from someone who
never heard of DS and read the book!
what page is the name from DS on I could go back and search but i'm much too tired!

in some novels it seems the older the vampire the less he has to worry
about some of these things
anne rice i agree does make her own thingsup but since they are works
of fiction (as vampires are?) doesn't bother me
i love when she does the body switch and Lestat is alive again and
has to eat and, well, use the little boy's room and it freaks him out
because it has been so long since he had been "alive"

I don't think "Hawkes Harbor" was a great book.   But I enjoyed it. Willie Loomis is at the center of the story, and in many ways, he's treated gently by the author.

I suspect that (like me)  S.E. Hinton is fond of the character of Willie Loomis. Her "Jamie" was true to the way John Karlen portrayed him.  In the end, I felt like I'd gotten a letter from an old friend of whom I'd lost track. The news wasn't all good....but I was glad I'd heard from him.
willie was suppose to be a loser who the viewer was suppose to hate IMHO JK made him likable which to me shows what a great actor he is
i think if the other guy had stayed in the role this never would have happened and they would have killed Willie off at some point
so i agree Rainey that the author is probaly fond of our Willie
