Current Talk '08 II / Edit on DS Collectors set 6

I know this is a very minor one here, but I'll mention it anyway.

This is on the first episode John Karlen appears as Willie Loomis.

On reruns and the VHS tapes, following the opening title sequence, there is a
slide of Collinwood with the DS logo and the announcer states "The part of Willie Loomis will be played by John Karlen".  This is missing in the DVD set.

I know it doesn't impact anything storywise but it is still part of the show and is a demarcation of the new Willie Loomis.  Also, since it is a recast it should have been included.

I don't think there was gay subtext, just that they were close friends who would help the other out in an emergency- like a BFF (best friend forever) relationship.

Perhaps with the present time Barnabas taking over his 1796 body and that self submerged, it caused Millicent to be free of Barnabas' spell.

Shouldn't Millicent have been locked up and under guard?  Never mind, I always enjoy seeing her.  It's hard to keep track of whether she thinks Barnabas is dead or alive, but who can blame her for being confused on that point?

When Barnabas meets Ben and asks if this is the night his mother found him in the tower, shouldn't Barnabas have gone back a day earlier to prevent Nathan from telling Naomi?  That way he can save two people he loves the most.

I always found that line to Ben one of the most absurd/bizarre given the fact he had the way to stop it.

Once again Barnabas's "My mother is dead because of you!" hit me right in the stomach.

I understand why David Henesy & Alexandra Moltke haven't ever been at any convention, but has Kate Jackson ever been to one?   I don't seem to remember any mention of her in any past festival.

If she hasn't, does anyone know why?

Mitch Ryan staying on DS changes things considerably.
Burke wouldn't have been in a plane crash
and he would have been in the story right up to & after 1795.

With an MR Jeremiah, they may have kept the original idea of Josette coming to marry him (at the beginning of 1795 they may have already been married and with a son- Daniel perhaps).

Angelique could still have been Josette's maidservant & living in Collinwood all those years with Barnabas later marrying her while pining secretly for Josette.

After Josette's suicide and Vicky accused of withcraft, Jeremiah may have represented her instead of Peter Bradford.

Once DC fires someone, they do not return.  Timothy Gordon could have played a new Burke though.

Drifting OT, but you think Ryan might have shown back up as Burke after 1795
(perhaps the lone survivor of that plane crash?)
People do things in haste and when they are younger that they wouldn't do later on when they have matured.  Liz may have been a different person at a younger age.

This would have been a great last episode for Joe, there was no need to go any further.

This reminds me of General Hospital back in 1991 when Robert & Anna announced they were leaving town and the next week  Anna is kidnapped & Robert goes after her and both appear to die in a sinking boat.

When Joe settled past business with Maggie in this ep and told her that he plans to leave Collinsport, possibly for good, didn't that make what does happen to his beloved character totally unnecessary?

In hindsite, it's so easy....

They should have made Chris & Amy to be Maggie's cousins instead of Joe's.  Once Joe left, the Jennings/Haskell connection became moot.

They would have had to do this beginning with Tom Jennings, but JC probably didn't yet decide to leave the show (possibly not even when Chris and Amy first appear either).   The writers put themselves in a corner making Tom Joe's cousin, but no one knew at the time.

In this scenario KLS would have had her own storyline with AM on the series involving Amy & Chris.

Actually, if Alexandra Moltke had stayed on DS, Maggie wouldn't have had any place on the show anymore without Sam & Joe there.  She had no more connection to the Collins family.

Maggie woulld have probably been written off with Joe, perhaps both leaving town together.
IMHO. Maggie would have become irrelevant.

AM probably would have been Rachael Drummund in 1897.
