Oh my goodness, do I actually see    -     a person of color??? Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Was this a first and last happenstance?

I would have to say Angie. I think that her "come hither" act would make men (at least those so inclined) say "Schwing!" I mean, she EVEN got Barney in the sack and I don't think anyone else ever accomplished that goal.

I hate to openly contradict, but I don't think a hooker plying her trade really falls under the luring category. [pimp] When Barney tried to entice young woman "of their own free will", he seemed doomed to failure. [wink2]

Frankly, I always thought Barnabas came across as dimwitted and effete next to either of those gentlemen.

(Hmmmm, am I going to be verbally caned for voicing that opinion?)

No, no. BUT Barney effete compared to those two??? Compared to Tom or Chris Jennings, sure. Compared to Joe, OK. I would call the whole trio you mention rather effete. Love Roger anyway, OF COURSE. I don't need an Adam to abduct me and play the caveman.

Personally, I vote for Julia and Professor Stokes if Barney can't see how wonderful she is.

JULIA: I realize I couldn't come in here in the middle of the night buck naked with a bottle of Drambuie and make you notice me!

In all the hilarity, you hit me with this statement. I think I'm having a realization....I know someone who just turned 40 and really thinks that noone over 23 is worth even looking at. Now he's the last guy I would want, but the whole "sweet young thang" bit confuses me. What is wrong with someone that they can't appreciate a real woman? I don't expect a young guy to be attracted to me, but I sure don't see why someone my own age wouldn't be.

Could it be that they are so lowly motivated in their sex drive that they REQUIRE a SWT to get going? I always thought it was a sexual insecurity, but maybe it is more like a lack of sexuality.

BTW, this was great, It just got me to pondering after I got back up off the floor.

Would Roger have thrown open the doors on New Years Eve?.....or scorned it as "Amateur Night"?

Would Liz have ordered Ham or Lamb for Easter Sunday?

Would Barnabas serve more than a cup of Punch for Thanksgiving?

Roger would have scorned New Year's Eve revelers as amateurs. Of course, he would still drink on the holiday, as he does every other night of the year, with a sneer.

Liz would serve lamb. Mrs. Johnson would ruin it. David would run away or at least disappear as soon as he was told to stick around because dinner is being served in five minutes.

Barney wouldn't serve anybody, he would be a guest at Collinwood.

Carolyn. Hmmm, I think that is the stock response when you flit all over the place from character to character. Which fits Carolyn, I guess!

I stopped by Best Buy tonight and got the DVDs. Happily, mine work fine. I did have some sparklies in the middle of the last disc for a few moments that I'm not sure if are from the original source or my specific disc.

To tell you the truth, I was not overly excited about this period of DS. I would have preferred 1795. But, having watched part of it, I am more thrilled than I expected to be. Woohoo, Mitch Ryan, Robert Gerringer, AND Dennis Patrick! (Will the REAL Burke Devlin and Dr. Woodard PLEASE stand up?)

I am SO looking forward to getting them all! I can't wait to see the color episodes on DVD! The black and white look great. I suspect that I may be a DVD shopping whore, do they have support groups for that????

P.S....Does anyone think Sabrina was pretty?or Morgan handsome?

Sorry, I just now spotted your question. I think Sabrina was OK, kind of more interesting than tv star beautiful. Unfortunately, her whining grates and ruins the effect. I do think Morgan handsome, I really enjoy looking at him.

I really don't get the impression that Willie thinks of Joe much at all. Joe is a hothead with Willie, but when not being bothered, I don't think Willie cares. Joe's existance and relationship with Maggie certainly don't hinder him from trying to approach Maggie!

Barney though has the double problem of finding Jeff a wretched, whining creep AND seeing the girl he loves fall for the wretched, whining creep. Make that a triple problem, when you consider that the wretched, whining creep makes it so obvious that he doesn't like Barney.

I am also curious about the oleaginous fop.

For those who dislike Christianity mixed with their Dark Shadows

I'm sure that there are some who don't. And I know that there are some who do, as I am one of them! Personally, I think as long as we speak respectfully, there should be no need for apology just because a subject is mentioned. I'm not yet feeling the need to find a Christian Dark Shadows site though.... ;)

I agree. Roger is everything that I'm looking for in a man. (Actually, I don't drink, but I think he's cute when he does, so that's OK.) So.....if you ever achieve your goal of being just like Roger-look out, I'll be waiting for you! :-*

Best Buy, huh? Do you mind if I ask how much? I keep looking at Costco, cos' they have such good prices on DVDs, especially sets, but so far no luck.
