As for Willie's culinary skills, well, who knows? All I know is, that scene spelled out that there had to have been a working kitchen.
True, and there was
that impromptu dinner party that Barn threw to draw Nicholas away from his house so it could be searched.  Hopefully by the time Barn became human again, he updated the kitchen somewhat.  I can't imagine how he would have managed otherwise. and of course, with the family staying at the Old House after Quentin drove everyone out....
I don't know why but now I am picturing Willie as a prissy master chef screaming at Barnabas to get out of his kitchen and crying over souffle falling and quail being charred.

hmm, I guess when he then would have had to go to the necessary house in the garden to take care of his "other business."  ;D  Unless Barn did allow one concession for modern conveniences and had willie convert a couple of the rooms for a bathroom and WC.

I wish we could have seen what the Old House kitchen looked like.

I am picturing Willie trying to learn how to cool on an old wood burning stove.  It's a wonder he didn't burn the place down! :D

"I gotta hurry if I'm gonna make it to ballet class tonight."

Buzz:  Don't get sore, baby.  When they did it on "I Love Lucy" it was really funny...

David:  Cousin Barnabas came into my room last night and gave me a music box.  Then he said he wanted me to be his Josette.

Roger (thinking): I'll get such a good laugh when she sits on that pinecone at dinner tonight.

Somewhat OT ....
Was there ever any talk on the show or behind the scenes about there being some connection between Jeff Clark and Ned Stuart, apart from a close resemblance?  To maybe make Ned the person Peter Bradford's spirit inhabited?  I ask several people commented on the Ned/Jeff resemblance, and I am watching the beginnings of 1897 for the first time, and Barn has commented on Rachel resembling Josette, but has yet to say to Carl, "You remind me of a manservant I used to beat with this cane...."
;D

I never really cared for Roger Davis.  I thought when he came back as Charles Deleware Tate he was really no different than Dirk.  Whereas you have Thayer David.  During 1897 we see Stokes (when they returned to the present)  Petofi and Sandor...I forget they were all the same actor.  RD wasn't a character actor IMO  Glad I finally found a DS board!!
Not sure what DC saw in RD.  I have no problem with him when he is calm, but when Peter/Jeff/Ned get agitated, his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I have just been watching his pre-1897 appearances as Ned Stuart, and I don't think a character has ever creeped me out more, the way he kept touching Sabrina.  All very innocent I am sure, but it made me very uncomfortable watching...

Current Talk '07 I / Doorknobs..
« on: February 04, 2007, 06:58:43 AM »
I have fallen in love with the doorknobs on the doors at Collinwood, antique brass look with a circular Greek key motif.  Any ideas what the design is called or if they can be found anywhere?

Many thanks.

Barnabas: (thinking) Let me see ... wall up in the basement of the old house, or bury in a corner of the mausoleum's secret room ... ?
