Good question, MB!  I decided to look it up and all sources said both versions are correct.  When I typed both on a document, neither came up with the squiggly spellcheck line.  I guess it's like "cancelation" and "cancellation."  Of course we patriots write "color" while the redcoats write "colour."

So, did the author deliberately write the British version or was it a mistake?  I guess we won't know.  Maybe the author was being tricky.  It reminds me of when I read S.E. Hinton's addition to the fallen-apart revival of the Harper-Collins DS novels, Hawkes Harbor which was initially titled Collinsport.  All our characters and locations were there but renamed - save for just one time when Ms. Hinton threw in her tribute to us DS fans and called the renamed Roger Collins, Roger Collins.  How wonderfully sneaky of her and I'm surprised you-know-who didn't throw a hissy fit and call out his bevy (or is it "bevvy?") of lawyers.

Morlock (and SaraMonster - hopefully she'll find some way back in) - what a blast from the past!  I know it's difficult since our noble leaders, MB and Midnite, have had to shut down new members when spam-and-runners began to infiltrate.  I don't know how this on-line stuff works, but maybe you can ask MB or Midnite how SaraMonster can reactivate her account.  If you've got Sara's e-mail, maybe one of our fearless leaders can contact her on how to do it or even have her create a new account.

Of course, the name of the tragic heroine in Doctor Zhivago is Lara.

Never bought that one, Doctor.  All the novels and comic books I have (I'm surprised my mom didn't throw them out during a "house-cleaning") I purchased when they originally came out.  I've never purchased any collectibles on-line.

It's always fun to look at things like ebay and see how many of the novels and comic books I've got.  On this latest two postings provided by The Doctor I've probably got around fifteen of them if not more.

It's in question six.  By the way, I got everyone right!  Woo-hoo!

I guess we differ.  To me, it was the best adaptation of King's novel.  The '13 with Chloe was the worst.

I, with friends, watched it at an outdoor theater in Charleston, SC.  We were utterly terrified.  It's a true classic.

The article mentions parts of World War Z being filmed in Britain, particularly the coast of Nova Scotia being the coast of England.  I'm surprised it didn't include another important location.  The film opens in Philadelphia and, while some overhead shots were made, the city wanted way too much money for the massive street scenes of panic and mayhem.  So Edinburgh, Scotland stood in because its asking price was much cheaper.  I've been to both multiple times and many Edinburgh streets are very similar to those in Philly.

Another classic horror Maine locale filmed elsewhere was the '02 version of Carrie.  Originally produced for theatrical release, CBS (I think it was CBS) bought it out during its making and expanded on it as a pilot for a hoped-for TV series (Carrie survives and goes into hiding at the end).  The devastated town of Chamberlain, Maine was filmed in Vancouver, BC and Anchorage, AK.  Fortunately, unlike the classic '76 version which was filmed in California, there were no palm trees in the background (palm trees, palms trees, palm trees, PALM TREES!!!).
