Joe came as close to telling Maggie about Angelique's power over him as he possibly could without giving her secret hold over him away.

Barnabas knew something strange was going on withJoe, and he was well aware there was a vampire around, couldn't he have put two and two together and figured out Joe was being influenced by one? Then he could have brought him to the Old House and kept watch over him there. I don't think with him, Julia and willie keeping an eye on him, that Joe could have so easily gone to Angelique.

Yes, Nicholas is very gentlemanly and gracious. [spoiler]It would have been neat to see Humbert Allen Estredo play a good and honest character.[/spoiler]

Is there anything more romantic than a man rescuing the damsel in distress? I think not.  [ghost_cool] This entire episode was excellent!

I can't believe Nicholas is calling Mrs. Johnson supersticious, considering what he is!  [ghost_rolleyes] But she's closer to the truth than anyone realizes, too bad no one will validate her.

It's obvious Roger is getting more and more frustrated with Elizabeth's condition, and who can blame him? Nothing seems to help her.

It was very interesting to see Julia behaving so unlike herself, and to see Barnabas being so solicitous towards her. I really believe he begins to care about her in this episode, and it's mot only due to the experiment.  [ghost_happy]

Yes, Barnabas should have known better than to turn his back on Julia, but it sure makes for a great ending to an episode.  [ghost_cool]

A very happy belated birthday to you, Magnus! I hope it was wonderful!  [ghost_smiley] [ghost_cool]

This episode features the water fountain.  [ghost_cool]

Barnabas refers Julia back to a time when they were friends, but when were they ever really, friends?  [ghost_huh]

I very much enjoyed the voice-over. I found it to be very suspenseful, and the music that went along with it only added to the tension.

I love how in 1968 when Vicki is replaced by phyllis wick, everyone is talking all at once in confusion as if they don't quite know how to handle the situation.

There are episodes where I have trouble coming up with anything to say, and then there are episodes, like this one, where there's too much to say. ...

A very well written post, and one that echoes my sentiments completely.  [ghost_smiley]

Perhaps if they'd tried to do something to convey the unexpected horror of being trapped in the coffin, and not just a brief moment but an extended look at it.... that might have bridged things for me.

It would have been interesting to understand  over the space of two or three minutes barnabas's thoughts and feelings so we could at least get an idea of what he went through for those centuries trapped, immobilized and isolated in the coffin.

I always wondered what became of Ben after he was freed. We know he had descendants but where did he go? He most likely stayed in Collinsport since that's where his descendants lived, but who did he marry?

When Barnabas said, "My mother is dead because of you!" it hit me right in the pit of my stomach: there was such pain in his voice.

It effected me that way as well.

There are a couple of interesting looks at love in the 1795 storyline.  Angelique is sure that she loves Barnabas, but she is unceasingly cruel to him.  Joshua is sure that he doesn't love Barnabas, but he does everything he can to help him, and grieves at how inhuman Barnabas has become.

I agree.

One thing Joshua said was interesting. He said something to the effect that Barnabas being a vampire had destroyed many people, and in the end it would destroy barnabas himself.

How sad that barnabas and Nathan, once such good friends are now bitter enemies, intent upon killing each other.  [ghost_sad]

Strange, though, that Nathan actually showed remorse over Naomi's death, yet he isn't the least bit sorry that he just sent Vicki to her doom....I suppose one could argue that Nathan hadn't counted on Naomi killing herself...I wonder if he really was remorseful about it or just shocked.

I don't think Nathan was in the least bit remorseful about Naomi's death, rather he was sorry Barnabas found out that he was the cause of it.

After Naomi's discovery of Barnabas's condition, Barnabas could have gone away so as not to see her, but he chose to return to the tower room. I think some small part of him wanted to see her again, to be reassured that she didn't blame him or despise him for what he'd become. He still had to know that she loved him.

Such a tragic and sad episode.  [snow_sad] [snow_cry]

What a shame, that Nathan who once was a friend, is now such a bitterenemy, willing to cause others to suffer for his own selfishness.

The secret Barnabas and Joshua have tried so diligently to keep from Naomi has been revealed, and in a very graphic horrific way. How much tragedy can one family endure?  [snow_sad]

I was very impressed with the way Naomi was protecting Daniel and Vicki. It was very admirable of her and she showed a lot of courage and spunk. [bigok]

I completely agree! Naomi was great!  [snow_cool]

Nathan sure gets upset when things don't go his way, doesn't he?

It was cool how Peter spied through the window, waiting until Nathan was gone to talk to Naomi, convincing her to help him and Vicki.

You know, I really like the way the actor portrayed Noah.
