This is the first day of no DS for three weeks and I am already going through withdrawal.  I just didn't know what to do with myself tonight not watching my tape.  At least I get Soapnet and can watch Falcon Crest to get my David Selby fix.

Cats say:  You feed us, care for us, love us....WE must be gods.

Ringo, that is too funny.  I have 5 "gods" at home.  One more demanding than the other.

That's great that you got alot of pets adopted at the shelter.  I talk to everyone until I'm blue in the face about getting their dogs and cats spayed/neutered.  Some people just don't get it.  I've yet to hear a good reason from anybody why they won't.

Hi Gothick - The name is actually the name of my cat.  My niece named him after the diety.  I call him Nubie for short.  The way he acts I believe he really thinks he's a god.

I wasn't able to go into the Mansion, but on open house days you can.  I hope she decides to go back on an open house day.  I would love to see the inside even though I know it looks nothing like the set on TV.

You're right about the smell in the Black Pearl, CrazyJenny.  When I peeked inside I could smell the clam chowder.  I'm still drooling for it, it smelled so good.

Current Talk '02 II / I Saw Collinwood!
« on: November 12, 2002, 06:54:54 AM »
My friend took his daughter to Salve Regina College on Saturday to see if she wants to attend school there and I went with them.  We went over to the Carey Mansion which is now a dormitory.  I was so excited to see it.  I think my friend thought I was alittle nuts, I was taking pictures like crazy and looking all around.  I even called my husband from my cell phone to tell him I was standing in front of Collinwood.  I was alittle suprised to see that it was run-down looking, especially since the other buildings on campus were in very good condition.  We walked along the cliff walk which was just beautiful.   The weather was perfect.  It was so warm.  We went to have lunch at the Black Pearl, but it was very crowded and there was a long wait.  Still I was just so exicted to see it.  I hope she decides to go to school there.  I'll be going up every visiting day.
Thanks to everyone on the board who gave me the info. about locations.  It really was a memorable day.

Thanks everyone for the replies.  It is Salve Regina College that I am going to visit.  When I went to their web site for some information and looked at the virtual tour of the grounds and found that Collinwood was there I freaked out.  I then read in one of my books that the Black Pearl was used for the Blue Whale and it was so close I really went nuts.  It's funny, I live only about 40 miles from the Lyndhurst mansion and have never been there.  I just don't feel the same about it as the house they used on the TV show.  I can't wait to see it.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: "universal" monsters
« on: October 31, 2002, 07:00:37 AM »
Dracula was always my favorite of the Univeral monsters.  I've always had a thing for vampires.  That's what drew me to Dark Shadows in the first place.  I couldn't believe it, a television show with a vampire as the star!  I did get alittle excited though the last time I saw the Mummy and they spoke of Anubis.

I always thought it was interesting that Joe Haskell was probably the only character anywhere who was attacked by the top three universal monsters. a vampire, frankenstein monster and werewolf.

I can't believe what wimps Barnabas and Julia are.  Why couldn't they  just tell him Chris won't be coming home tonight, they are  leaving the cottage and he has to leave too, and tell him that if he won't leave they'll call the police.  Whenever someone bullies them they just stand there looking so helpless.

Current Talk '02 II / Is this Dark Shadow or Gone With The Wind?
« on: September 27, 2002, 07:21:09 AM »
When Peter was saying he would not let them take Vicki away to bury her it reminded me of the scene in Gone With The Wind after Rhett's daughter died and he wouldn't let them bury her in the ground.  Then when Natalie said, "As God as my witness" I then knew for sure the writers must have been watching that movie.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.  How do I keep the catagories collapsed.  I hit collapse and it does, but then when I click on a topic it opens it up and then the next time I go on the board it is still open.

I was 10 1/2 when Quentin first came on the show and fell in love immediately. Barnabas was my first love, but Quentin was just so sexy.  I've been watching Falcon Crest on soapnet and my husband said to me that I'm just watching it to see Quentin.  I told him - Hell Yeah!

Maybe Maggie's T-shirt would read: I survived the Black Mass and I all got was this lousy hair color.

That was too funny!  :)

Gee, I felt deprived of hearing Alexandra Moltke's voice saying one more time I DON'T UNDERSTAND when Barnabas was telling Vicki about Vampires. Anyone else?

I thought the same thing.  I kept saying it to my husband during Barnabas' speech.
