Watching this mornings episode, Ms. Duval doesn't strike me as being the bartering type.  Cash on demand seems more like it.

I'd like to think that in true soap opera fashion Philip somehow survived his plunge from Widows' Hill, emerged from the water with amnesia and was found and cared for by a Greer Garson type (remember Random Harvest?) They are probably now happily running an antique store in New Hampshire.

Ah yes, the head rolling while playing the piano scene from Bruno.  Oddly, that scene has always stuck in my mind and I'll even mimic it sometimes when I'm listening to piano music, pretending to play.  It's even become a private joke between myself and Mrs. Julian.  I remember seeing Babs Streisand singing "You'll never walk alone" a while back and she was doing so many strange things with her head that I began to wonder if she wasn't possessed by the spirit of PT Bruno.

I don't know why, but it bugs me in PT that Liz is not the mistress of Collinwood.  I actually like the Jekyll/Hyde story, the character of Alexis, and daddy dearest Timothy Stokes, even though I could have done without Roxanne.  Aunt Hannah is also a good character.  For some other unfathomable reason I just don't like Julia in the role of a domestic.  I agree if Maggie had a spine the story could have been more effective, but that seems to be the way soaps were back then - remember pure, blonde Alice on Another World who was always being stepped on by evil, ,black-haired Rachel.

I think in Parallel Time Bruno's hair made a different choice - to be even higher.  If there's yet another parallel time band running somewhere he probably has a beehive.

I think a great idea for a story would be for Ruben Stoddard of American Idol fame to show up at Collinwood to claim his inheritance.

Maybe Willie suffers from Stockholm Syndrome.

On the subject of fashion and in regard to the montage on the board this morning, what's up with all the fur- full fur coats and fur lined collars.  Was PETA around back then?  They'd have a complete nuclear melt down over all the fur.  Is Bruno's jacket squirrel?

Too true Gerard.  I started to laugh at your post, but then I remembered the large check I mailed out on April 15th and started to cry.  I wonder if Barnabas had to file a tax return?

I believe Amy does fall under the sway of the Leviathans.  I also vaguely remember a telephone scene where I think Liz is talking to Jeb about the possibility of Roger joining their group.  It was very funny, almost as if she was recommending her brother for membership in an exclusive country club.

Glad to hear things are going well.  Are you looking forward to going back to work?  The older I get, the more difficult I find it returning to work when I've been out for a while.  Maybe I just need to find some rich family and tell them I'm going to write their family history and crash at their mansion indefinitely.

Yes, it seems Roger married his own grandmother.  Talk about dysfunctional.  I think someone once argued that since Laura recreated herself every so often, she wasn't exactly the same person, but in the 1897 meeting between Barnabas and Laura, she also remembers him from when she was married to Jeremiah - so if she has memories from her previous existances that would seem to mean she is the same person.  Ugh, this has given me a headache!

Hmmm.  Carolyn possessed by Marcia Brady.   Interesting possibilities.  Mrs. Johnson possessed by Alice.,  Elizabeth by Carol Brady, Roger by Mike Brady, David by Bobby, Amy by Cindy, Willie by Sam the butcher.  Maybe in a crossover type thing, Angelique could get possessed by Samantha's evil double, Serena.

I thought the shift from 1795 to the Dr. Lang/Adam story was very jarring (it seemed like a completely different show) but the show seemed to find its way again with the intro of the Quentin and Beth ghost story which of course lead to the entire 1897 saga.  Once that ended it was again very jarring - a whole new show where everyone seems to be hanging around the antique shop.  I think the times DS gets off track is when it strays too far from the Collins family and brings in too many outsiders.
