If Dennis Patrick was unavailable, they should have had Paul's ghost with his back to the camera instead or perhaps another actor playing the ghost, they have done this before.

I have tried to work it out that Peter Bradford's ghost is the work of Nicholas, to get even with Jeb by conjuring an image of Peter Bradford to scare him and appear to Phillip to kill Jeb.  The ghost somehow manages to make Jeb believe he once lived in 1796.

They probably did that because the Gerard/Daphne storyline was just like the Quentin/Beth haunting and they decided it best to ignore it.

I always thought the present time family remembering Quentin's post 1897 was an indirect result of the Leviathan's messing the timelines together.  [spoiler]Once Jeb destroyed the Leviathan Box, everyone's memories and the timeline settled correctly so now they no longer remember Quentin's haunting.[/spoiler]

I'm beginning to think the Leviathan's arriving via Barnabas from 1796 halted the history change that should be prominent in 1970 as Ghost Quentin now never existed.  They are from another dimension and now two timelines are interfering with another.

[spoiler]By the time we get to Summer 1970, it's apparent that Ghost Quentin is no longer remembered as it isn't referenced when Gerard and Daphne appear.  It's treated like David is possessed for the first time.[/spoiler]

Sam Hall made a comment in the 80’s in one of the old fanzines that (paraphrasing) “one writer, who will remain nameless, suddenly went into hysteria while Gordon and I look on stunned. He said Dan hates him and belittles him. I told him DC hates everyone but that did nothing to calm him. He was soon gone from DS.”

Any ideas who this could be?  I can only think of Ron Sproat or Ralph Ellis,, who wrote only two episodes.

They could probably have used footage from one of the Japanese horror movies to show the monster.
There was a three headed monster in the Godzilla movies (Ghidira). 

Though it may have been too costly for the rights.

I'll correct my previous statement of the Leviathans causing everyone to remember Quentin's ghost to that of Barnabas causing/influencing the Leviathans to do it, it as he perceives Quentin as a threat to their plans.

Uncle Roger, there was also Good Times where Florida marries Carl Dixon at the end of season 4, goes to Arizona with him in season 5, and returns in season 6 as if she never was married at all!
