One more:

Tony spied on Carolyn after she ditched him at Collinwood and caught her and Barnabas doing things one shouldn't catch cousins doing.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: Uh oh...is DS pervading the household?
« on: July 29, 2002, 09:18:57 AM »
DS hasn't really invaded my actual family outside of the occasional event of watching it with my mom.  However, it invaded my college family pretty heavy last fall.  I got one of my roommates into it and we watched the lead up into 1897 and a pretty good deal of 1897, much to the chagrin of the other two roommates who didn't really get it.  Anyway, we ended up nicknaming a guy we knew "Ned" (ala Mr. Stuart) because it matched his loud, abrasive, annoying personality.  Every time he walked by or his name came up in conversation, one of us would mention "Ned" and we'd both start laughing.

Most definitely!  Nancy Barrett and Jerry Lacy had obvious chemistry and the relationship between their characters should have been more explored than it was.  Besides, it's just refreshing to see Jerry Lacy portray someone besides a Trask.  As wonderful as he was in those roles, it seems a waste that he was confined to be the raving evangelical when he obviously could play more.

Twice in 1970 (Leviathans and Daphne/Gerard storylines) they had to dig up Quentin after he had been burried alive.

The graves of the many different Lauras were exumed in 1966 and 1897 so as to see if they were still there.

In 1840, Samantha and Gerard did the same to Joanna Mill's grave.

And just a few weeks ago, Barnabas and Willie dug up Tom Jennings to stake him to find that he was already gone.

David and Amy listen to a post date Carolyn and Chris talk about them before heading off to meet their ghosty "friends."

The possessed Charity listened while Quentin and Beth plotted a way to free Barnabas from Petofi.

Ben Stokes' journal was important to Prof Stokes and to a few folks in 1897.

and **spoilers**

1840 Quentin's journal was used against him in his witchcraft trial.

Daphne wrote her of her plans to kill Quentin in her journal.

Evan Hanley laced the pages of the book of Latin Tim Shaw was supposed to translate with the mind control potion or whatever it was.

Diana Walker did as well as could be expected.  She wasn't glaringly bad although it wasn't the same watching her and having to associate her with Carolyn.

Which leads to this...

Why is it that everytime they have a replacement on the show, the actress/actor has no resemblence to the original actor at all?  Im sure that they had alot of petite actresses with long straight blonde hair that they could have used.

Why is that?  After watching one actor play a character for period of time, the audience becomes used to seeing that character look, act, etc a certain way.  Maybe certain replacements didn't go over so well with the audience because they were absolutely nothing like the actor before them.

LOL - "Eve" has been on that table for how long now? - In addition to her time in the dirt rotting.  Damn that room must smell by now.  Doesnt this seem just a tad illogical? ;)

Absolutely!  I never understood how they kept the bodies "fresh" enough to keep them looking life like--it feels so icky to talk about it that way  :-X.  Adam was apparently getting some kind of injection, but I don't understand how this would work because he was dead and there was no way to circulate the solution through his body.

I know that this is one of those that you can't think too hard about, but it pushes it a little too much.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: To COLORIZE or Not to COLORIZE?
« on: July 23, 2002, 08:23:46 AM »
Oooh...they shouldn't colorize the B&W episodes.  Color would ruin the eerie vibe that the early episodes have.  It just wouldn't be the same.

You know, I've never gotten the Barnabas is sexy message.  I can admit that he has a marvelous voice and great presence (not to mention a wounded nature that seems to bring out the mother in some women), but every time I begin to change my mind about Barn, I end up seeing an episode like the ones we've seen this week and he ends up coming across as too creapy to be hot.

Another time another place, maybe, but he just doesn't do it for me.    :-/
