Current Talk '02 II / Re: David Darts
« on: October 13, 2002, 04:56:48 AM »
I have to agree he was too old for Jax's.  Hide and seek games were very big though even at David's age.  We use to play it outside at night.  I think about that time we discovered real card games.  Got a kick out the the big deck of cards.  My nephew game me and his mother a pair as a joke has summer.  He was refering to the fact our vision isn't what it was suppose to be.  Wait until he is 40  and than has a glass of wine or two.  David would have enjoyed some of the not so nice games we played.  Sticking candles on coke cans and trying to scare people in their cars coming down a long road from a country bar hangout.  Let's just say that our mothers never knew we did this.

Mr. Juggins reminded me of the blow up piloit in the movie Airplane.  Do you think he needed a cigerette after seeing Maggie?

Elizabeth had the best wardrobe.  Very classy, and well put together.

Roger looked good in whatever they had him wear.  Just a few wardrobe mistakes on his charactor.

Maggie--well, she looks great in anything.

Complaint not enough casual clothes.  Would have loved to see Barnabas iin something less stuffy.

Thank you for all your advise. I am going to pass it on to my husband.

MB, I had not heard of those other servers so I will also look into those.  Your advise is appreciated. We have been using MSN and it keeps freezing on us and we have to reboot the darn thing.

Just got back from our trip to Newport.  The weather was wonderful.  Yes, we did go to both Walmart and Christmas Tree.  Those are the kind of things my mother likes to do. Even though I didn't get her to visit "Collinwood" my sister and I brought her to the Black Peral for the chowder.    So I got my DS fix with a visit to The Blue Whale.  I looked for our Bob behind the bar, but it must have been his day off.

I think both David and Denise were exceptional actors.  Even my husband who does not watch the show on a regular basis has noticed.  He can't believe how much better they are than the child actors who were on prime time than and now.

I agree I would love to have Mrs. J. around this place. The windows might even get washed.  I don't have a clue what she would have been paid or what the pay scale was back than.

I have to say when Amy and David were purposely annoying her yesterday I wanted her to say " If you have noting better to do than stare at me pick up a dust cloth and get to work.  I will give you kids something to do to keep you out of trouble."

Birdie--do I think too much like a mother.

Current Talk '02 II / OT/ A quick few guestions
« on: October 05, 2002, 04:21:53 PM »
There are so many of you out there who know so much more about computers than this pointed head woman.  My husband is planning on changing internet servers, and he is thinking about going back to AOL, or perhaps Earthlink.  Do any of you have any words of wisdom or advise?  I would love to go cable but the cost is so very high.  Thanks in advance for any heads up.

I have to go throw a few things together I am taking my mother to Newport for the night to my sisters.  Of course it will kill me not to visit "Collinwood" but don't think I could drag my mother there.  She just doesn't get it.  And this is her weekend to play.  So I will have the  pleasure of going to the Christmas Tree Shop or maybe Walmart.  Oh boy, it doesn't get better than this.  Actually, I am glad to be able to spend time with her she isn't getting any younger and she just turned 75 this week.

I was watching with my children when I got home from work today and we all thought the same thing, Thank goodness Julia is not our doctor.

The bell story line reminded me of the Mary Higgins Clark book I believe the name is Moon Light Becomes You.  It take place in Newport and part of it takes place in a grave yard with the old fashion bell attached to ring in case anyone was accidently buried alive.  It was very interesting having been to many of the places mentioned in the book.

One guestion is why do all the woman get buried in their night  clothes?  If it is a family thing why didn't Barnabas get buried in his P.J.'s?  Can you imagine that! HaHa.

All I know is when I was about eleven my mothers brother brought down from an attic a picture of my great, great, grandmother and swore I looked just like her.  I was horrified, she had a very severe face and hair like a poodle.  It was of course the style of the day.  I think I cried all the way home.  My uncle of course did not mean this as an insult.   My youngest son is the image of his dad only his hair is lighter than my husbands at the same age.  Now of course it is gray and my son's is darker.  With family genetics anything is possible.

Can you imagine Barnabas in Boston with Amy and David?  How about that purposed trip to the zoo?  My imagination is going over time.  Barnabas in a fast food restaurant with the children getting them a burger and fries.  Sitting there in this three piece suit.  He might enjoy showing them the Freedom Trail.  That might be the best education they have gotten so far.  I am sure he could add quite a bit having  lived through it.  I don't think he has left Collinwood since he came out of the coffin.  How would he react to seeing the Boston of the late 60th's.  On thing on his side is he is the first person to suggest they put the children into a real school.  When I am in Boston tonight I will think about the B-man in Boston.  lol
