I've never been able to get that to work for the topic I'm in.  I can Jump To a different one, say from Current Talk to Robservations, but if I'm in Current Talk, I've never been able to get it to return to Current Talk.  I'll try again.

P.S.  From your first comment, apparently you have no explanation.  It just seemed impossible that it would work one way for the first item and differently for all the others, and I've been curious as to how that could be.

P.P.S.  All right - it works!  Maybe it's the new computer or the newer (I assume) IE that came with it.

I've just got to see if there is an explanation for this.  It has been driving me crazy.

When I go to a section of the forum, i.e., Events or Current Talk, and there are several items that are "New" - let's say 6 of them, I start at the one at the bottom, click "New" and after reading that one, click "Back" to return to the list and do the one above it, and so on until I've seen all 6, movng from oldest to newest.

Now, when I was able to get in with Mozilla for a while, I noticed that each time I returned to the list, the "New" was still there.  That made sense, since I was just returning to the previous page and not refreshing it.

But in IE, both before the switch and after I had to resume using it, that didn't happen.  Each time I returned to the page, the "new" would be gone from the one I had just read.  It made it a lot easier to remember where I left off to click the next one.  It surprised me since the page wasn't being refreshed, but I liked that it worked that way.

All right - now I've got a new computer - and when I use IE, it's a combination of the two.  I've been paying close attention the last few days to make sure.  In each section, the first item I do, when I hit "back," the "new" has disappeared from that item.  But, all the subsequent items retain the "new" until I refresh the page.  Surely, it has to work one way or the other!!  It is quite consistent.  The first one I do on a page loses its "new" and all of the others remain unless it's refreshed.

That helps!  It seems that most of the examples were 2 or 3 and there didn't seem to be a difference.

I'm sure I've mentioned a number of times that many years ago, one of our local independent stations started showing it, claiming it was the most requested show.  They started with the arrival of Barnabas and went deep into 1795, when they suddenly canceled it.  They claimed this was a temporary change in schedule and it would definitely return, since it had been so highly requested.  It never did come back.

From that point to somewhere in Leviathan where I had begun in the original run, I had never seen, and I had certainly forgotten most of what I had seen.  It wasn't until the tapes came out and I found a video rental store that was getting the whole series that I finally had a chance to go back and see them.

What is the first number?  The second is the number of characters, but how do you decide what to do for the first?  So far I haven't noticed any differences in any of them.

That depends - I guess I identify with him too much, so I like him as a human and when he becomes a vampire again, I think, oh no, he's stuck with that again!  However, in terms of the show, he probably had a lot more good parts as a vampire.

Does it have to be this Quentin?  I think I'd go for the 1840 Quentin.

Earlier this week Larry King had Katharine Houghton, Katharine Hepburn's niece on talking about her aunt.  They repeated it tonight - not because of this, it had already been scheduled!

I heard parts of it the other night, but heard some new parts tonight and it turns out the niece played Hepburn's daughter in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" - I had no idea.  I looked her up on the imdb and she's been in other movies and apparently a lot of stage work.

Patti, I hope your problems (or whatever) are being solved.

Right now I'm soooo relieved.  Someone at wpuniverse.com told me a simple way to get to Run which I needed to get out of Safe Mode.  It worked (if Gateway's system restore had worked, I'd be stuck redoing a lot of what was done this past week - so I'm LUCKY it DIDN'T work!!!) and now the scanner is working too (the reason this whole thing happened in the first place).

So, at the moment I am quite joyful!!! :) ;D

I agree, I'm completely frazzled.  My 8+ day old computer might have to wiped and Windows (and everything I've done all week) reinstalled!

I'm stuck in Safe Mode.  Gateway couldn't get me out of it and tried a System Restore.  We went back earlier and earlier (I finally did one more myself afterwards, going back to the original install last Thursday) and it keeps saying that it can't restore as there have been no changes to the system.

The Gateway tech said she thinks the system is unstable and I'll have to start from scratch.

I just can't believe it!!  Almost everything I've done has run into problems and taken longer than it should have - and now - this!!!

It IS fun when you remember some things, though.  I know a lot of mysteries that can be more fun the second time around when you know the explanation and suddenly understand all sorts of references and little details.

The other day there was a rather poignant scene which, knowing the explanation for what happened to Angelique, was much clearer and more interesting.  I hope people will remember this scene when they finally learn the truth.
