I always assumed that while he's not a Collins by name, he is now a member of the family, and in that sense they refer to him as now being a Collins.  I assume he could have refused, but he wants to do it.

Patti, I don't really know!  When one clicks on the update icon, they list the various items and explain what they do.  Usually they say that someone could access files on your computer, etc.  It always sounds terrible, so I'd be afraid not to get them!

The group the other night was huge.  There were at least 5 items and it took forever.  As soon as I finished posting the last item, it was midnight, and my reminder for the additional ones came!  I think there were just 2 that time and it didn't take tooooo long.

Tonight there was another one!!  This time it mentioned the problem coming in an e-mail and possibly taking one to a "false" site, so I'm guessing that it might be addressing the problem from this trojan that MB told us about.

I didn't mean that I was necessarily safe from getting this trojan, but since I was already downloading an update, for a moment I wondered if it was the bad program.  But, since it was the "regular" update and not something I was directed to by an e-mail, I figured it was safe to have downloaded it.

Meanwhile, there were still more updates last night!!  At that point it was too late, so I told it to remind me the next day.

In New England, do girls wear heavy long-sleeved dresses in June?

Well, if you're going to ask that one, you also ought to ask if they wear sleeveless dresses in the winter!!  :)

I was a junior in college when a couple of my friends told me about it.  One of them had watched from the beginning and the other from 1897 (or perhaps before that, but I know she had missed 1795).  The one who had seen it from the beginning had the better memory and informed us both about the early parts and helped the other in bringing me up-to-date with the later parts.

I've decided that it must have been Leviathan when I tuned in, as I know I saw nothing of 1897, had vague recollections of Leviathan when I saw it again many years later, and I know I was watching before the first hints of PT.  I saw from there to the end.  Apparently we didn't get the show in the early years, but fortunately when I went home for summer vacation, one of our UHF stations (in those days there were the main networks and a few new channels on UHF.  I think all sets came with UHF at that point, but those stations didn't have the kinds of ratings as the main national networks) was showing it.  I got my mother interested in it and she continued to watch to the end even after I returned to school.

Many years later one of our stations brought it back, claiming it had been the most requested show.  We saw from coming of Barnabas through most of 1795.  At that point they pulled the show, supposedly temporarily-after all, it had been the most requested!  That was it!

A few years later the tapes came out and at some point I learned of them.  I managed to find a video store that was getting the whole series for rentals.  We watched, as quickly as possible, from the start (coming of Barnabas) to the point where they were (I forget how far that was, but I think they were up to tape 84 or 88) and then I had to wait each month for the next 4 and race a few other renters to get them as soon as possible.  We finally saw the whole thing.

Then, came the classic episodes - from the beginning - but no one else wanted to rent them (I couldn't understand that), so after tape 16, she stopped getting them.

When SciFi came along, we didn't get it.  We finally got it in spring of 1996 (I think) and I tuned in one day just to see where they were, got hooked again, and have been watching it ever since.  This last time, FINALLY, I got to see those early episodes!!

HEY, GUESS WHAT?!!!!

One of the archives was indicating new again tonight, and I was thinking of letting it go until tomorrow, didn't feel like bothering to bring up IE.  So, when I finished everything else, I clicked on it, and . . . IT WORKED!!

Wow!  After quite a long time without updates - the update icon appeared tonight with a whole bunch of seemingly critical files.  It's taking forever.  I think it's been a couple of hours and is just 85% complete now.  Fortunately I'm up late enough to finish it!!

So, when I read that, I got a bit worried!!  However, I didn't get an e-mail, this is the regular Windows Update that pops up on the taskbar, so I assume I'm safe!!!

Further "update"

I did update!  This time it searched for 11930 items!!  Aside from an additional Wild Tangent, though, it didn't find any more problems.  How can I be so lucky?!!! :)

I always felt there was more to Josette than most people indicate.  I recall her defying her aunt and visiting Vicki in jail and a few other moments like that.

Hopefully the conversion to the new system isn't too far off in the future (I might even put up a public test forum soon just so everyone can get a preview), so perhaps things will work better for you then...

 :) :)

Ha!  Ha!  ;D

I could understand if nothing worked.  I don't see why the archives are any different than anything else.  Fortunately, it isn't very often that there's something there, so I can always bring up IE when there is!!
