Current Talk '06 II / Re: Who was the scarier ghost, Quentin or Gerard?
« on: December 13, 2006, 05:50:51 AM »
I think that Quentin is scarier too. But Gerard LOOKED scarier than Quentin......that glare.....YIKES!! But I think the reason that Gerard wasn't as scary was because all that was done before with Quentin, so we kind of knew what to expect when he came around.

So, I think Gerard had the scarier face, but Quentin had more of a scary effect because he was the original one.

I agree with Brandon. Having seen Quentin's haunting of the house and possession of the children, we knew what was to come when Gerard appeared, different face, same kind of haunting.

IMHO, Quentin was more effective as a ghost, slowly drawing the children, especially david, in to a web so that they didn't realize what was happening, and once they did, they were unable to free themselves. My vote is for Quentin.

When Eric Lang is going to do the experiment, he asks barnabas if he would like Jeff Clark's face, and Barnabas promptly agrees, simply for the fact that he thinks it will make Vicki fall in love with him just because he looks like Clark. To me that is so superficial! It just makes me want to shake Barnabas. [santa_angry]

Also, during the experiment, the constant crackling of electricity from the machine drove me mad!

I know I've said this in previous posts, but Jerimiah's ghost returning to plague Barnabas and getting jealous because he thinks Barnabas took Josette away from him, when Jerimiah never even loved her in life. In death he should have realized what was going on. Why was he making such a ridiculous accusation?  [santa_huh]

Current Talk '06 II / Re: Most shocking recast....

The Gerringer/Turgeon switch was the most dramatic and disappointing hands down! I loved Gerringer's Dr. Woodard, I could see him being a doctor if he hadn't been an actor. He had that kindly manner that doctors need to work with their patients. Kind, caring, helpful, Gerringer played Woodard's role with perfection. Not that I'm saying Turgeon wasn't a good actor, he was, but portraying a character that had already been established by someone else couldn't have been easy. I was definitely sad to see Gerringer not playing Dr. Woodard at the last. Having said all that, Dr. Woodard's death still effected me deeply, and all I have to do is imagine Gerringer playing those last scenes and it makes me flinch just thinking of his death!  [santa_sad]

Polls Archive / Re: Santa's bagful of Shadows goodies

A great many interesting objects -featured as part of the opulent enviroment of the Collins' estate, featured because of their off-the-beaten-track or supernatural significance, made their appearances on Dark Shadows. Undoubtedly more things than I could remember when I created this poll. Have fun!

Forget Barnabas's cane, Barnabas's ring, or Barnabas's portrait. All I want for Christmas is Barnabas himself! [santa_embarassed]  [santa_grin] [santa_cool]

The closet they came to her having a major plotline was [spoiler]when she was spying on the family for Burke in the pre-Barnabas episodes.[/spoiler]

Ah, that would explain it then, as I have not yet seen the pre-Barnabas episodes.  [santa_smiley]

With the population in Collinsport increasing overtime, What types and/or races live in Collinsport?

Oh, you know, vampires, phoenixes, werewolves, possessed children and the like, just your ordinary diverse population.  [santa_grin]

Current Talk '06 II / Re: New Collinsport Gift Shop
« on: December 12, 2006, 06:37:08 PM »
I think the entire family should go to the gift shop and purchase Christmas decorations and have Collinwood decked for the holidays for once!  [santa_grin] Oh, and perhaps they might also buy a snow machine because Collinsport seems to avoid snowy winters!

Julia could buy Barnabas a "Do Not Disturb" sign to place atop his coffin so she wouldn't have to guard him during the day.

Elizabeth or Roger could buy David a TV, after all, he probably doesn't even know what one is!  [santa_grin]

Barnabas could buy his little sister Sarah a new flute, she could still play it even if she is a ghost!  [santa_cool] [santa_thumb]

I have to agree with everyone, Mrs. Johnson was a delightful character to watch, it's a pity they didn't have any major plot lines involving her, that would have been great!  [santa_cool]
