I didn't realize you could scan individual documents with antivirus software.  I'll have to figure out how to do this without scanning the entire computer.

I had Norton for 3 months when I got my computer last year, and it let me scan an individual file.  With the McAfee that I returned to after that, even if I highlight the one file, it scans the whole directory.  I have a couple of directories that I generally download to.  I make sure that it's a small directory without a lot of other files so it won't take too long.  After downloading, I bring up the scan, choose the appropriate directory and then it just scans that directory.

Vlad, I have no idea what the answer to that is (I'll be curious to learn, too), but I never take any chances.  Any time I download a file, no matter whom it is from, I run my virus check!

Part of the appeal of 1795 for me was the clothing.  Even though the other past time periods have lots of lovely period clothing (I'm not going into whether or not they are accurate), my recollection of the colors and general style of 1795 seems superior to the others.

Then, there is seeing Barnabas as a "young" and good man - as he was alive - before anything happened to him and learning how it all happened.  Plus there was the introduction of Angelique and as evil as all her doings were, they were certainly fun to watch.

Also, the overall storyline was fairly compact.  They had a good story, told it, eventually brought it to an end.  As much as I love most of 1897 and marvel at how they managed to keep so many disparate aspects of the story going and get them to work together, it does seem much more sprawling and meandering.

I'm sure there are lots of scenes that I can't begin to remember, but one that particularly stands out is when he's first telling the story of Josette to Vicki and Carolyn.  I think there was a storm and everyone was uneasy and he starts this long narrative and explains how she was running from her lover, obviously without identifying the lover, all "as though he had been there" (as they obviously don't know he was).  He creates quite a spell and has them completely under it.

Thank you, both!!  Those font sizes will definitely help, Midnite.  MB, I wondered if you did something.  I still had to raise the size up one, which I had been doing all along, but it definitely looked better when I first arrived.

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 I / Lara Parker movie coming up
« on: June 05, 2004, 08:37:54 AM »
Another announcement from Patrick on the SciFi Board:

"For those who might be interested and who receive it, Race with the Devil w/ Lara Parker will air on Fox Movie Channel on Tuesday June 8 at 12:01 pm and repeat on Wednesday June 9 at 2:01 am."

I keep wondering what this Fox Movie Channel is - most of the listings Patrick has provided recently seem to be on that - I checked the list of channels I get and that doesn't seem to be listed.  It's very frustrating.
