I kept my purchases low this year. I picked up the complete DS music collection, and also grabbed DS:The First Year, DS: Resurrected, and Grayson Hall: A Hard Act To Follow.

Thanks for the report Nancy. I was glad that most fans were appreciative and forgiving when JF was tired and wanted to take a break. Not everyone was, but then, that would be expecting a miracle.

No, I was there during the skit at this year's fest, Midnite. I wasn't going to stay, but I liked last years so much that I didn't mind sitting through it again. And that joke about DC's black book was PRICELESS!

I must've just got up too fast at the end to rush out and get ready for the banquet, and that's probably why I didn't hear Pierson announce it.

I'm glad I could brighten everyone's day with this announcement.

Rainingwolf--I think that the fest is accessible to those in a wheelchair. On Friday before everything began, I happened to catch Pierson in the hallway telling some of the volunteers to rearrange some stuff because handicapped persons would not be able to access the dealers table. I think he's conscious of that.

A little side note: When I was standing in KLS' autograph line, I had my program book folded open and the advertisement for next year's fest was facing towards Kathryn's hubby. He saw it there, then leaned over to Kathryn and said: "Looks like Jim set a date for the fest next year. He hadn't told us about anything yet."

So, I suppose that things are subject to change between now and then, if even the star guests don't know about the date yet.

Was that the area with all the little white tables, and it had a garden surrounding it? Because I went out there on Friday, maybe Thursday evening, and saw nothing out there, so didn't go back out there again. Dammit! And I just knew that I read somewhere that there would be another replica of Collinwood there this year. Jim should've said something about it!

Now I'm all disappointed lol.

I purchased one of these while at the fest this weekend, and I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but the cover art alone is AMAZING! Go Sherlock! And I'm sure what's inside will be just as awesome too, given what Frid did on stage at the fest this weekend.

I didn't see that Collinwood set anywhere! Where was it?! I definitely would've gotten a picture if I had known it was there.

Well, we've returned safely home from the weekend outing at Collinwo--I mean the DS fest. I've typed up a complete fest report on the way home (I got bored) and so I'll have that up on a website within the next couple of days, along with the few pictures that I took throughout the weekend. I have more pictures of Lyndhurst than the actual fest, but I looked at Joeytrom's pictures and his are great! So for more fest pictures, look that way!

Anywho, I'll post the link to that site once I have it up and ready for you!

So today, while waiting in the extremely long fest line, after finally getting my program, I found something that I just couldn't wait to share with the rest of you. And that is the information about next year's fest.

"Coming July 18-20, 2008....

Dark Shadows Festival at Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center, Burbank California....

Celebrating the DVD Release of House of Dark Shadows and Night of Dark Shadows plus preparations for Warner Brothers' new Dark Shadows movie with Johnny Depp!"

Just thought that you West Coasters around these parts would be ESTACTIC to know about this! And I'm off to have more festly fun!

I suppose someone could always ask Jonathan Frid about the incident during the Q&A here at the fest tomorrow!?

387
Thanks for the info, MB. I'm not sure if I'll try posting it here or if I'll just put it up on You Tube. We'll see what happens if it all works out the way I want it to :D

Wowee! How'd you get there so fast? They shoot you out of a cannon or something?

Lol, Janet. While that would've been fun, and I'm all for trying new things (sometimes lol), we drove up, leaving this morning around 10ish, and we got here about 5:30. So it took us a while, but that included stops and some traffic backups.

I'm hoping to be able to write down what happens each day, as I brought the laptop with me, and I might even take some video so that at least a partial fest experience will be able to be had for those who haven't even come or weren't able to make it this year. I won't be videoing anything that they prohibit video during, so that's out, but maybe a guided tour or something. lol. Hopefully that'll work out b/c I'm not sure how good I am with the video editing stuff, so I might just have to pull a DS and include all the bloopers. :D

Well I'm here, and all is well. Been seeing some people around so far, and I can't wait until tomorrow for the Lyndhurst trip!

I too will be there Thursday through Sunday. I would tell you what I'll be wearing tomorrow, but that won't be decided until I get up, lol. But my name tag will be displayed prominently all weekend, with "Brandon Russell" on it, so if you can read that small little writing from way across the room, wave real big and maybe I won't be in a ditsy place and I'll see you!

For anyone who wants to know what I look like, visit www.myspace.com/futurely_famous and check out some of the pictures. My hair is a touch longer now, but you should still be able to recognize me.

I look forward to meeting everyone!
