Current Talk '07 II / Re: Johnny Depp Movie Cast ideas
« on: September 22, 2007, 04:30:42 AM »
The girl from "Signs" is Abigail Breslin. She's since been in "Little Miss Sunshine", "No Reservations", and other movies. She'd make a great Sarah, but she's such a wonderful actress that I wouldn't dare cast her in a small part. So the Sarah part would have to be very pronounced and involved in the plot.

Current Talk '07 II / Re: i'm doing 1840...finally
« on: September 22, 2007, 04:25:04 AM »
I've never really had anything against the 1840 storyline. I think it's pretty tight, barring some obvious things that have been pointed out many times here and other places. It's basically the same story, or the same way into a story in the past as the Quentin/Beth thing, but it's told in a newer way, which is nice. I like it primarily because it doesn't stretch on for MONTHS like the 1897 story eventually did.

And I used to HATE 1841 PT when I watched it when I was younger. The first and second times I saw it I thought it sucked. But now that I'm older, and can appreciate regular soaps more, I like this storyline much more. It''s very well written and has some great plot developments, and even pushes an evelope in one relationship. It's become one of my favored DS storylines.

The photos of KLS in JF's lap are great! And that one with KLS in JF's lap and LP off to the side looking quite "annoyed" is just HILARIOUS. God, it harkens back to so many things lol.

I noticed this as well. I'm still on the first disc because I'm watching one episode per day, and tomorrow I'll start the second disc. At any rate, on the first disc, Vicki's first day/night lasted for like the first 5 or 6 episodes. I picked up that the days were being stretched out because Carolyn kept referring to "You're leaving? You just got here last night!" etc. So she arrived, met Burke, met Maggie, went to Collinwood, heard the widows crying, met Sam Evans, met Roger and Elizabeth, and saw David on the stairs all during that first night and the next morning.

She certainly knew how to make the most of her time. lol.

I, for one, would NOT want  the proposed DS movie and Pirates 4 playing at the same time at the theaters. Don't ask me why, because I do like the Pirates movies (though I'm not boo-koo about them), but for some reason that thought just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I think DS needs to be released in the fall season, September or October. It's a very "fall film", I think.

Congrats on the baby Jenny! Hope it's happy and healthy when it arrives!

And I think I'm going to just go ahead and make the reservations since I can always cancel them if I decide not to go. I want to go to Comic Con next year too, so I've got to find out when that's going to be and see if I'll have enough dough to go to both the fest and the con. If I don't, I'll probably hit the con and skip the fest.

If I make a reservation I'll definitely ask to be sure of what their cancellation policy is. Now I just have to find someone to go with me. Maybe I'll just come by myself? Hmm.

Anyone know what their cancellation policy is? Is it the same as this past fest, where you can cancel up to 6 days before hand?

Read that little column in my copy of EW MB! I was elated to see a mention of DS! And BTW, the new "Halloween" flick ain't too shabby. I actually liked it.

Wow. That's quite a ways down there. No wonder I didn't find it. Too bad. Maybe if I get up there sometime in the future I"ll go looking around down there. I just went around up by the house and the greenhouse and the stables where everyone else was. But I did see the trail that leads down to it, just decided not to go down it. Aw shucks!

Where were these ruins on the property? I tried looking for them, but couldn't find them.

Isn't a Lost Boys 2 in the works?

Yes I did hear about the Lost Boys sequel but I don't know anything about that movie.

Here's some more information about that movie. There was a blurb in my 8/24 issue of Entertainment Weekly, that says that both Haim and Feldman are going to reprise their roles in the sequel. It's a DVD-movie called "Lost Boys II: The Tribe" and is described by executive producer Mary Viola as being "like X Games meets Jackass". Other cast includes Angus Sutherland, Kiefer's half bro, Autumn Reeser of "O.C." fame, and Tad Hilgenbrinck from American Pie's "Bandcamp".

The reason that it was originally thought that Haim wasn't going to be in it was because he was seen on his A&E reality show with Feldman, crying over the fact that Feldman had been asked but he hadn't. But, that was before all casting was completed, and Haim was later contacted to reprise his role.

I feel it's very unprofessional to tell actors
"I can't pay your way, so you pay."

I have to agree here. I'm not sure how I would feel, were I one of the actors, and I was told "Well we're paying for KLS, LP, and AM (were she to attend) but not for you, because those other three always draw big crowds." I mean, I'm sure that it's worded a little nicer than that, or maybe not, but I think I'd feel slightly snubbed.

But, that doesn't mean that I don't see WHY JP and the fest committee are doing that. I mean, if they paid for the transportation and housing of each star that wanted to attend every year, it WOULD become quite expensive, and seeing as there is a financial side to all this--at least wanting to break even--it's not exactly a horrible business practice. Then again, they could just say "we're not paying for any of you, so those of you who want to come and peddle your business, c'mon."

why does the almighty god of the festival have to bless this idea? the cruise can be organized independently and the 2 stars can be contacted through their websites. if the stars want to attend they will decide on their own.

Abso-friggin-lutely!

I have to agree with you, Magnus, in the respect that when I just recently rewatched 1841 PT, I gained a new appreciated for it. I rather like it now, having been able to watch the whole series without interruption curtosey of the SciFi channels frequent movements and episode mixups. 1841PT was certainly better, IMO, than 1970PT, and ranks up there with some of my favorite moments.

Brutus' ghost was just a HOOT, I say H-O-O-T, to watch!

Not that this makes a bit of difference, because she probably would've come ANYWAY, but while waiting at KLS's table this year at the fest, someone was talking to her hubby, confirming that they had a place in NYC. And he said that one of the reasons they were there this year was because they were already going to be in town for something else, and were staying at their NYC place.

Anywho, a train trip sounds awesome. I'd do that too. But I like the cruise better. We could do it during the winter. Down in the Caribbean it's hot year round.
