Carol,
Anytime you are in MA. let me know.  You can come to the Chirstmas Tree with me anytime.  It is tradition to get beer and nacho's after shopping.  Would love to have Willie working around my house.  I need him this week.  Life is so out of control.  My oldest goes back to school on Friday.  The rest of my evenings are watching Basketball games.  My daughter is on two teams and my youngest on another.

Don't feel bad about bringing up the Q-man.  Annie, he is one beautiful man.  There are many of us who miss him.

I love antiques.  Would love to get my hands on any number of things that they used as props on DS.  Funds in the pocket book seem to hold me back from so many dreams.  I tend to go for the more early american style.  I have noticed Victorian styles are coming back into vogue.  Anyone of you familiar with The Christmas Tree shops?  They have quite a few lamps with the glass prisms hanging from the shade.

I bought two pewter candlesticks with glass globes to put on my fireplace.  My daughter said I was trying to have it look like the fire place in the old house.  In her next breathe can we light the candles?  I didn't put blue candles in them though.

Last night it struck me how often ever so slight reminders of the DS seem to enter my everyday life.  Yes, I am insane.

Last night my brother in law called my front hall the foyer.  I had to bite my tongue.  Than in conversation with my sister I happen to say this person from our past nmed Billy gave me the Willie's.  Of course the famous scence and line popped into my mind.  I sat there laughing like a loon.  I am sure the rest of you have stories too.

Hey, I am bored.   Trying not to do anything I should.

It is sad but I think I am starting to get use to the cold.  My husband washed the cars in the drive way yesterday and it almost instantly froze.  Next week is suppose to be jusat as bad or worse.  Oh well, no January thaw this year.

No DS tomorrow, maybe I will sleep in.

Happy Birthday Dom!

I will have a drink in your honor tonight.  The hub. and I actually have a date tonight.  Finally, going to see Big Fat Greek Wedding and joining up with some friends for drinks afterward.  My first beer or glass of wine will be a toast for you and the hard work you do here.

Ringo, I tend to watch Will and Grace and Frasier.  I love Karen on W&G.  She makes the show for me.  Can you imagine her running around Collinwood?  Hey she would fit right in with the Brandy-Sherry club.  She treats her servents as good as the Barnster.

Ringo, were you serious when you asked what a mudroom was?  In theory it is a room where you leave your muddy shoes, coats, etc, etc, before entering the rest of the house.  We had this house built and as the barren waste land of the acre we own was once a sand pit.  A mudroom seemed like a very good idea.  The trees we have planted are just about above stick status and our water bill to get grass to grow here is like the national debt.  Hey, on the bright side no water in the basement.   I know you had a problem with that some time ago.  We did too at our first house.

Sorry this got so far off subject.  Do you think Collinwood had a mudroom off the kitchen for the staff.

Current Talk '03 I / Re: I Could Have Lived at "Collinwood" - Very OT
« on: January 17, 2003, 04:41:43 PM »
Vlad,
I would have loved to have seen the "house".  The carraige house sounded so very beautiful.  Words of advise it just was not ment to be.  My Aunt lives in a carriage house and it is charming.  She sold the big house to her daughter,  Her daughter has made changes and it is not as beautiful as it was when my aunt lived in it.
I love old houses and tour them whenever possible.  My dream was to buy an old house and repair and restore it.  The sad thing is my pocketbook is not equal to the task.  Reality had to sink in

Take Care.

What a hoot.  As always I tend to agree with you.  I enjoyed the father/son thing between Jamison and Edward.  A little more normal.  Loved Carls checkered coat also loved Jamison's navy blue coat.

Also hate the commerical thing on AMC.  Tried but could not stay up for Desk Set.  I had a killer of a headache. Did you watch To Catch a Thief before Desk Set?  Another great film.

Hey, should I tell you that I never lock the mudroom door.  My neighbors have called me at work to ask to borrow things and they are told just go through the garage and in through the mudroom.  Than again I don't have a coffin in the basement.  Also he might try hiding it somewhere different, maybe the attic?

Birdie==who has also been know to go out and leave the front door open.  This drives the husband nuts.
