1970 PT had Barnabas' death in 1830 according to his tombstone. but this makes his death around 1820 or so.

Yes, Matthew's brother was Walter Morgan, who the police interviewed to see if Matthew went to him when he was on the run.
He probably buried Matthew in the family plot with only himself or, if he had one, his own family present.

Instead of the two Josette lookalikes, they should have sent Rachael away for a while (when KLS left) and then return, now knowing she is the reincarnation of Josette.

DC probably wanted to pad the 1897 storyline more, as the ratings were the highest ever, so he had the writers create a new character and start a romance. 1897 should have been over by this point.

I know I had gotten tired of the Josette part of the series before 1897, and there they did the lookalike angle twice!

It would be great if they could find the outline for the original backstory as I always wondered what they came with for how Barnabas became a vampire prior to Angelique.
It's odd that Julia or Wille never asked him how he was turned, it was never really hinted at prior to 1795, except for the mantle scene with Josetts's portrait and the episode when the seance is held.
With Julia attempting to cure him, she certainly should have asked how he got that way prior to starting any kind of cure.

It's intriguing to wonder what Barn's original backstory might have been. Even two weeks before the 1795 story began, he was saying things that didn't match up with what we were soon to see.

Maybe it is a generation only if someone dies after spending the night in the room. If someone lives, then it is held after that person dies?
They said William Collins was in the room prior to Justin. Perhaps he was an uncle of Justin & Julia.
In a copy of a fan magazine at the time, it said Julia Collins was to be a widow. I guess they didn't want to have both elder members of the family be Collins-by-marriage. She could have been married to PT Daniel if they went the original way!

Now that we have the DS comic strips, comic books, movies, & episode summaries all available in reprint/book form, I think that it would be great for the Ross novels to be released in a similiar format. I would be interested in a collection as getting the originals would be too expensive/time consuming.
